The Mighty Clam is back!

Hello all, I find myself returning to the RS Mégane fold. I used to have a White RS250 a couple of years back, but sold it due to circumstances and depreciation worries. However the Mégane 250s seem to have ceased depreciating and are roughly going for what they were going for when I sold mine a couple of years back!

Anyway, having previously owned a 5 GT Turbo Raider, Clio 172, Clio 182, Clio 200 (going Saturday ) and a Mégane RS250, I will be excitedly heading down to Tunbridge Wells Renault and picking up a beautiful black 2015 Mégane 265 with Cup chassis, leather heated seats with the 18" alloys and R.Link/SatNav/RS Monitor.

The dealer is sorting out a very tiny pinprick dent before I pick it up, they said their dent guy is amazing so hopefully I won't even notice where it was, but other than that looks brand new. Managed to get £500 off list price and I do love a haggle, but that was the best I could do.

Had a great test drive, good choice of roads and ran in traffic as well as opening it up. I swear the standard exhaust in sport mode sounds louder than my RS250 did in sport mode? It's odd, I test drove the new Civic Type R a couple of weeks back and it's awesome, but the acceleration and feel of the Mégane just feels more brutal and mental than the Civic, not sure why but that's from flooring them both in 2nd & 3rd gear. I had my heart set on the Civic, until they announced a new one is coming out next year, no way I'm paying £28k for a car about to be replaced. The Mégane just came calling after I had to reappraise the 'what car?' situation and am very happy and a little excitable now for Saturday!

 

It's Black, my previous 250 was White but I'm quite liking the stealth look. In a bit of a flap now as my Clio 200 buyer has pulled out because his missus had a go at him for buying it??? He's left a deposit, organised train tickets etc, he was picking it up Saturday, then I was straight off down to Renault to pick up the 265.

Need to engineer the quickest car sale ever now!
