Hi guys, a few of you might recognise me from the cliosport forum as 'Korky' I had a titanium phase 1 that I regrettably sold last month. I have been on the look out for a LY or GW R26 for around 2 months now and still haven't found the correct one, hence the title, the car is still elusive and I have not settled for one that is not perfect. Non the less, after deciding I would by a pretty much standard car I have begin to buy some parts to take the car to stage 2. A RS Tuning 3" decat was ordered, K Tec 3" exhaust, FMIC (17 row), silicon intake pipe and ITG Induction kit, vibratechnic engine mounts and a short shift kit. I'm still awaiting a forge hard pipe kit to arrive and the force sensor holders. I am currently looking at cooksports springs and the rely and 2 piece disc conversion too. Once I actually have the car and the parts are fitted it will be off to Paul at RS tuning for 630cc injectors and map, I am just debating a single mass flywheel and r26r clutch. Also if anyone could point me in the right direction of the hub bearing bolts that have grease nipples that would be great. Cheers KT
First I had heard of this! Are these even available? Being able to grease the swivel bearing would solve the problem with them seizing...
Also, apologies Korky for hijacking your project thread. I like the way you are buying all the goodies before getting the car B)
Any chance of asking Mark if he would do a group buy etc of the bolts? I think quite a few people would be interested!
Its a great idea to solve the bearing issue. Used to be the norm on older cars to fit grease nipples, but nowadays they don't expect owners to get their hands mucky with a bit of grease!
Bit of an update, I purchased a LY r26 from a good friend of mine, 57k miles, belts done by mark black, cooksport springs, r26r spoiler, fitted my mods over the weekend and took a few pictures but don't actually have any of the full car so will get some tonight Mods fitted Cat comparison I have the standard parts for sale if anyone needs anything too! Car is booked in for mapping with RsTuning and 630 injectors, just debating a 250 turbo. Also order a set of the cazan bells with ap rotors for the front, what do you guys recommend with regard to pads for the road? And rear discs? And fluid? Just debating tyre choice too, as it has ns2r's with I'm not particularly a fan of, the clio had r888 which are far too compromised on the road so I was thinking of ps2's for the Megane. Does anyone have advice on getting the rear end a bit more stable when pressing on, I do feel I can I can provoke it to come out easily. Car will be treated to millers nano drive oil change before mapping and a set of new plugs, just debating on box oil choice if anyone has and recommendations?
Looking good mate RsT dont have any cold sides for the 250 in at the moment.... Or they didn't have when i asked the other day! You have to buy the complete turbo, £600 i think Tyres wise you thought about federal 595 rsr?
How much are they? i can only find these but don't know what thread the megane uses. https://www.ebay.co.uk/ulk/itm/291636623773
Yes I ran them on the Clio at one point, they were OK, not massively impressed though I'm not sure mate, I will find out Couple of snaps of the Megane
So today I got the forge hard pipes fitted, they are a bit tricky and require the front bumper off fro anyone reading this thinking of doing them. I got the new number plate lights fitted too. Washed and waxed the car for now until my new cleaning products turn up, then it will be getting a full decontamination (there a lot of tar on it) and a 2 stage machine polish and a couple of layers of Swiss wax, the wheels will get similar treatment too.
Solid rear discs turned up along with plugs and another oil filter Awaiting more deliveries Also standard bolts with 5mm front spacers or longer?
Yes mate by cazan racing, reyland bells with AP rotors I've gone for 197 solid discs on the rear after reading up about them they seem great
So today I put the 2 piece discs on the front with mintex 1144 pads, braided lines and 197 discs on the rear with brembo pads and braided lines, added some eibach 20mm spacers to the rear too and give all he wheel bolts a lick of paint, bled the brakes with ate 2000 and ran about 1.5l through it to make sure it got a good clear out. Does anyone else find removing the rear calliper mount an absolute nightmare, those male torx bolts are a terrible design! also the rear braided line are a pretty shitty job too, you have to undo one, and get covered in fluid whilst undoing the other as there is lack of access. Still got lots to do before mapping. Anyway, I got a picture of the fronts and took the car for a little drive out tonight, the brakes are sharp and I have a lot more confidence in them now. A few other bits to do to
Another little deliver today (who'd of known dpd deliver Sunday's!) new exhaust hangers for the rear as one has a bit of sag so thought I'd change them both Also had use of a hunter alignment so adjusted the car slightly. Is there a way to adjust the camber on these, as you can see from below he camber is slightly out, checked the full car over and everything seems straight, nothing bent etc any idea's? And finally a couple of of how the cars looking Thanks for reading Regards KT
Looks really well mate, I so need a r spoiler in my life also you had any bother with plates having no spacing?
Cheers buddy, yeh the 'R' spoiler really finishes the back end off. No bother yet in regards to the plate, then again I've spent more time working on it than driving it!
Looks awesome in the sun pal. Where did you get the rear Eibach spacers from?? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Cheers mate, still a bit to do to get it how I want it but it's coming along Here's the spacers Look at this on eBay: https://www.ebay.co.uk/ulk/itm/381549004697 Eibach ProSpacer 20mm wheel spacers for RENAULT CLIO ESPACE IV MEGANE RES9072001

So today I got round to fitting the new exhaust mounts, I had noticed with j fitted the exhaust someone had put a cable tie round one of the tears but didn't fully realise the extent of how bad it was And fitted all the plastic trims in the engine bay, modified he battery cover slightly to make it work with the Itg kit Also did and oil and filter change ready for mapping on Tuesday Regards KT
