Terrible handling at speed

Discussion in 'Suspension, Brakes, Wheels & Tyres section' started by Northy 8, Dec 29, 2013.

  1. Went in the car last night after had the alignment done
The near side track rod end was loose like was going to alter it then forgot to tighten up
Now it's terrible on left hand bends like lighter steering and dangerous at speed
On the main rds it's scary on left turns like it's trying to spin the car around
Wasn't perfect in the beginning before tightening the rod end but now dangerous I am guessing it's shown up another worn part like hub etc
    Anyone else had this
    Cheers

  2. You had alignment done, and the car is worse? Dangerous even?

    Take the fucker back!

  3. Somehow the track rod end was undone like when you are about to alter it
Its been set up properly I think its highlighted a worn bush, bearing etc
My feeling its the hub bearings

The bolt was loose before tracking was done, I tracked the car and noticed the o/s bolt wasn't tight!
    o/s was towing out 1minute,
    n/s was towing out 5minutes,
There's slight play in the o/s hub aswell

  5. Cheers mark for explaining better than I did lol
We will get to the bottom of this mate
Will be over this week to see any updates on it
Be good to get the centre box cut out and new o/e mounts sir

  6. Unlike the guy I highlighted above mine is only left turn inputs which probably means a certain side is the effected cause

I'll add some tow out on the front wheels and see how it goes

  8. Cheers mark well weird
    Frightening at speed

  9. Went back to mark today
Did both hub bearings as totally knackered
Bolts were solid but mark got them out
    Had the centre box removed
    3 x oe exhaust mounts
    It now drives perfect
    Can't thank mark enough
    Top bloke
    Cheers

Glad its fixed pal, never seen or repaired a hub that bad!
Mine will be in tomorrow to adjust the tracking to the same settings as yours, seems to be a winning combo!!'

  11. What tracking set up are you using mate? My car still feels a little twitchy through the high speed bends! I will get you to have a look over mine when im up in a couple of weeks!
