Suspension and Tyre Setting for Nurburgring

Discussion in 'Suspension, Brakes, Wheels & Tyres section' started by Mark_RS, Aug 21, 2017.

  1. Afternoon all,

Can anyone who has experience of the following let me know hot and cold tyre pressures for AD08R on a Megane RS250 and what sort of damping I should be running at the Ring along with camber etc? The car is currently set at 10 rear and 6 front (12 being max hard...rears may therefore be at 2 if I've got the direction wrong haha).

Any advise very welcome before I go hooning round the North Loop at the weekend.

  2. PM Paul, R26 man, I am sure he will be able to help you.

Paul told me to keep it soft, as the ring is quite bumpy, as for tyre pressures do a lap and check and adjust as required

  7. Thank you. I've had the car corner weighed now and the cross load is 50.78%. It rubs a little on the offside rear (annoying). Going in for camber adjustment on Thursday first thing. I've had the turrets enlarged to allow this on car.

  8. Have you driven the Nurburgring before? If so and you've got plenty of laps under you're belt then I kind of understand you're question. If not then a setup you're familiar with will serve you better than a setup someone else finds works great for them on thier car. The best setup in the world won't help you if you don't know the track.

  9. Yes, been going there for 10 years and in the 100s with laps...I'm no demon though, best time is mid 8s in my old C63 on a Sky Limit track day. The only car I've had setup was my Merc on PSS10s. That was running on R888Rs at normal pressures when hot, the fronts were set to 8 and the rears to 6 if I recall. My old Clio Cup, that was just 75% all round on V3s.

I'm on the AD08Rs this time but I haven't had the Meg on track before.

32 hot for AD08Rs works spot on there with camber.

I wouldn't worry too much about damping if you havnt had it in track before, make sure you have decent geo then tweak damping to suit if needed. Generally the ring requires softer springs and damping and stiff arbs
