Afternoon All, Hopfully soon to be... owner of an RS250 from Manchester, aim to have the car in the next 6-12 months. It was only right to do some reading and check out the forums Wife now drives my 2010 C class C250 cdi sport (impending baby) and I am using a "banger" Clio 2 DCI 100, which im all honesty is fantastic! It has inspired to me to look at the RS range, thinking of chopping in the Merc and splitting the funds (newish Polo/clio or similar for the wife) for the RS. My dream spec is RS250, Cup or non cup i dont mind. Xenons are a must, ideally Grey, white then black (in that order). Any other options worth considering? Thank you.
Hi and welcome. Cup or not is the big question you need to ask yourself. Personally, cup all the way - it's what these cars are about. If you're after comfort then they're not really the right car. Recarros are the other must have in my opinion. Good luck mate - update the thread when you buy.
Interesting points about the CUP! can you confirm what the major differences are? Can i get the CUP on 19" 's?
Cup has the mechanical limited slip diff, whereas non-cup doesn't. I've seen it written that the non-cup is still a good handling car, which I don't doubt, but you're missing the point if you don't get it. Yeah you can get the cup on 19's
That could be a game changer, I had a EP3 type R in my youth. Great car but terrible are putting the power down.
I just bought Megane R.S. and it is great. I'm almost sure that it is not a cup version but want to make sure. How to check very easly if it is cup or not?
I used to have an EP3 challenge me every morning on the way to work.. He just never seemed to get bored of trying to work out which way I'd gone! Must've loved the punishment! I even filmed it once because I could bet on him popping up to try and keep up with/ahead of me I'm not too sure how.. usually I put the number plate into somewhere like webuyanycar and it'll say cup if it is. I'm sure there's a better way of finding out though!
Translation from the french forum I want to say one other detail that the disks grooves + Callipers red in color. The dampers have the color codes for the cup chassis must be lower under the car and watch the front spring: blue purple green dots and on the rears 2 yellow dots
I'm picking up my 1st megane rs on Saturday and I must say the 2 muse haves for me where cup pack and recaros but good luck bro
Interesting stuff! Not sure I can wait now... this baby needs to arrive asap so i can get moving with my car purchase! On a very adult note, anyone tried putting in an ISOfix in the back? Do they fit?
I have a rearward facing iso fix in the back of mine. But saying that Im only 6'1 and i've had to put it behind the front passenger seat. It did fit behind driver seat but the chair was right up against the seat, if i raised the height of my seat a little it would have been fine.
Thats fine as im a short ass @ 5.9! plus it wouldnt be for frequent trips. Hopefully the second car will be fine for that.
The Recaro seats are great in my Clio Raider. However I prefer the ones in my R26. Not as supportive but much more comfortable.
Whats the RS like in heavy traffic? Mpg wise... i know it wont be great but some are better then others.
I have red calipers and grooved discs. this means that it is a cup? I have standard leather seats. They were available for cup? I have an opportunity to buy recaro seats. Is it worth buying?
Yes that should mean you have the cup back. The recaros were an option and not part of the cup pack. I'd say it's worth putting them in they are very comfortable and look loads better than the standard seats.
