hi all, Just a quick one, How obvious should the VVT Crossover be on the RS250? I ask as since owning my meg it seems like its a little more sluggish recently however im not sure if thats down to the fact im just used to it now. Anyway, i did some digging after hearing another owners car which had a much obvious and pronounced VVT "Crossover" if that makes sense? Kind of the VTEC noise of a honda.. so i took mine for a drive and noticed mine isnt all that obvious. I did a bit of digging to find the dephaser pulley has not yet been changed and the car currently being on 87k thought it probably should have been done by now. So really my question is, should there be a nice evident sound of the VVT kicking in at all? Because it seems i dont have that, or so i dont think i do anyway unless when it was mapped the VVT was changed at all if thats possible?? I have no dephaser related issues as such, in terms of difficulty starting etc. Bit about the car - itg intake Remap EFI - 310BHP airtec fmic 3"milltek system Decat Thanks in advance
I don't really mine kicking in, there might be a slight change around 4-4.5k rpm, a mate has just got his car back from rebuilding, says it was boosting but felt flat till high RPM, told him to disconnect the VVT valve and see if there was any difference, came back that there was no difference, he changed the VVT valve and said it was so much better.
Thanks for the reply mate. Interesting! Where is this VVT valve im able to disconnect? Be worth just disconnecting to see if i feel any noticeable difference i think. Atleast then it will be ruled out whether its working as it should or not haha.

Yeah i know what you mean now. Im sure the seals weeping a bit on mine to be honest, so wanted to replace that anyway. Thanks mate!
Interesting. I suppose you can check the VVT with an OBD device or a multimeter. Other way is giving it electricity directly, BUT I think it must be 5volts, not sure about that. I think we must to heard a little "click" when it works. Anyway, sometimes I feel it a little slowly too. Maybe the bloody VVT is the problem!
Thank you mate! Deffinatley helped me underatand the sustem better, still new to the megane ownership actually i think its the first car ive had with VVT
