RS250 CUP, 2010 In White, £9,450

  1. So I’ll be having another child around October which means I really cannot justify having 3 cars anymore. Which is the ONLY reason I’m selling this car. It’s drives perfectly, no strange noises knocks or bangs, starts first time every time. Just get in and enjoy.

I drove 3 other Cup Meganes before this one and spent a good few months looking as I wanted a good example and one that mechanically was sound. After seeing a few rough ones and even one that only started boosting very high up in the rev range it was very satisfying getting into this one and feeling the torque hit at 2.5 – 3k. It has 71,000 miles on the clock and cambelt was change back in December 2017. The mileage will go up slightly as the car is used at weekends.

When I bought the car it was basically standard, bar the back box chop. It has the RS monitor which I think is great addition, I can run the prospective buyer through how this works.

As soon as I bought the car I started buying and upgrading parts, these consisted of:

    AD08R tyres 235/40/18
    Plain front discs
    Performance friction z rated pads
Brake fluid flush / change to ATE
    Gloss black wrapped roof
Oil 5/w40 and genuine filter change

I got the alignment checked and adjusted as when I bought the car the steering wheel was off slightly.

I then enjoyed learning the car and getting used to the amazing handling and how the diff works.

I did notice that intake temps were pretty high on the RS monitor, so I did some reading up and found that the standard intercooler unit is pretty pants. So I ordered the Airtec stage 1 intercooler. As soon as this was fitted the intake temps dropped massive especially as soon as you start running boost. At this point I decided I might as well get the car remapped and make the most of the shinny intercooler. Before the remap I changed the spark plugs and also fitted a forged re-circ valve as the standard unit is prone to leaking especially when mapped. The battery also stopped holding charge so a new one was fitted just in time for the remap. Whilst fitting the battery I noticed the gearbox mount has been uprated to the larger bolt so this common issue has also been addressed.

So I booked in with RS Tuning (November 2018) and I decided to get them to fit one of their decat pipes and also fit a RAM intake filter before the remap. The cost for this was £882.

At standard boost the car kicked out a healthy 266bhp and 275lbs, and with the remap which is activated when you press the Sports Button, it made 318bhp and 350lbs. Paul capped the torque at this level as I said I wanted a reliable car and not be pushing everything to it’s limit.

The car drives so much better on and off boost now, it even starts better. That accompanied with the soundtrack now the decat is fitted. Since then I’ve just enjoyed the car and carried out a few maintenance items that didn’t really need doing which included the thermostat as people said they always seem to die so I fitted a new genuine one. At the same time I got the gearbox oil changed and also a track rod end as a bit of play was noted, again all genuine Renault items.

    MOT Due Dec 2019

    I am after £9,450.

I am in no rush to sell this car at all, so no crazy offers. Also no offers before seeing this car.

Please note I will be the only person driving this car unless you have proof of full insurance.

The car is located between Wakefield and Doncaster.

    Any questions please ask away.

  4. Looks stunning mate. With the way some are priced it may be a waiting game.

    Glwts

  5. Very long waiting game at that price

  6. Have you not seen the updated price?

Be handy if the thread title could be updated?

I paid £9,400 for it 11months ago and I've spent 3k on it.

  7. Have seen how much these cars are selling for? People seem to think these cars are high milage as soon as they go over 60k, you never see your money back you spent on it, with the crappy market atm, you will do well to see 8k

  8. Yes, i looked at what else is for sale currently on ebay and trader and mine is priced very well looking at the mods / mileage etc.

They are selling as there is bugger all left on the market for 250 cups.

  9. You have not mentioned spec, but it looks like a poverty spec cup, so it is not worth as much as others that are listed, but time will tell....

  10. Sold cheers
