Recirc valve for stock boost

  1. hi folks,

After vapor testing for leaks I've found one in the oe diverter valve. I'm considering either the Forge or Properfekt recirculation valve.

Car (MK3 RS) runs wagner IC and sports cat, no remap, stock boost.

I'm thinking about the spring, in case of forge, should I keep the green one; or for Properfekt the spring that comes installed? Or change them for the next stiffer step?

as per RS monitor boost rarely goes above 1 bar, may see a peak of 1.1

I want it to be able to dump as much pressure as possibe to avoid turbo stall (flutter would be ok at very low boost).

What do you guys think I should go with?

  2. Hi there! Same problem here, I noticed the car don't running as always. This past week I´d fit the recycle valve from Properfek, easy job. About the sprign, it comes with a soft one installed, I think it is weak for that turbo, so you can ask them for a harder one. I have a track day next Wednesday, I'll tell you how it works!

  3. Thank you Manu, it'd be interesting to know how it behaves with stronger spring, dumping under high boost vs low

  4. Well, back in home! Eduard, I'm afraid I can't tell you something. I didn't notice any difference with the stronger spring. Maybe more bangs between shifts?? I don't know really, but in concern to the BOV, nothing to mention. I can tell you the car back to run like always, the lose of power I felt is gone.

  5. Thanks Manu, glad to know the power loss is gone. If you're not noticing fluttering noises at high boost (stu tu tu sounds when letting off the throttle) then I'll be happy with ordering one myself.

  6. Not at all, no noises of any type. I just back from a 2000kms. trip and no problems.
