250 Rear light condensation

Discussion in 'Exterior & Bodywork' started by jack250, Jan 2, 2018.

  1. My rear lights are looking terrible at the min. The winter has finally sent them over the edge and they are constantly steamed up and full of condensation.

What’s the best way to get rid of this? I’ve taken them off and dried them with a hair dryer but came back straight away. Need a fix please?

    Cheers

  2. Changed my rear bulb other week....never had it before this and now mines the same!

  3. Between the lense and bulb carrier you have a rubber seal, take that seal out and clean in a bowl of warm water and dry, before replacing the seal in its housing wd40 the seal. This worked on one side for me but the other lense had a crack in it had to suffer a new Valeo one of eBay £45.Always buy new there only £10 to £15 more than a 10 year old unit.

  4. Speaking to a mechanic about this who reckons get a microfibre cloth over the outside trap it in the boot lid and then get every light on you can and leave for an hour or so and the bulbs will heat up and get rid of condensation....however I’m sure it would just come back?!
