  1. Renaultsport Megane 230 F1 Team R26 - £4995 ONO

First registered in 01/11/2007. Original plate was FD57AFE. Currently on RS55ZEN, which is included in the sale. The car is hpi clear.

I’m the 5th owner. I purchased the car in June 2019, on 131,948 miles. It’s now on 137,729, which may rise slightly through test drives.

MOT to 16 May 2024. Last serviced January 2023, 137,613 miles. Cambelt replaced 30th September 2019.

Large file of parts and service receipts.

The car was optioned with Liquid Yellow paint and xenon headlights. It is six speed, has an LSD, and has cruise control, auto-lights, power-fold mirrors and OEM Renaultsport mats. In addition, the car has the following modifications:

    • Direnza large volume intercooler (January 2019)
    • Lightweight flywheel with OEM clutch & slave cylinder (130k miles/January 2019)
    • Mid & backbox delete (OEM system from cat-back available to refit if required)
    • Kenwood touchscreen headunit – Bluetooth, DAB etc.
    • RS Tuning sports cat (September 2020)
    • Brake upgrades (June 2021); front discs (Brembo), front pads (PBS Pro Race), rear pads (EBC Yellowstuff), PFC RH665 Racing brake fluid, K-Tec braided lines, new Brembo spring-clips and pins
    • Short-shift kit (October 2021)
    • Powerflex Black left and right engine mounts (October 2021)
    • O.Z. Racing Rally wheels with Advan Neova AD08R (fitted October 2021 – fronts 5.7mm, rears 6.7mm. They start at 9/32", or 7.1mm)

I’m selling for a couple of reasons. The old chestnut, a house-move and therefore lack of space, plus I’m in the process of building a kit car and thus the Megane just isn’t getting used, as you can see from the MOT history mileage.

I bought the car in 2019 as a fun road car and track day car. It’s been used on track without fault and modified accordingly. I took advice from K-Tec, Renault specialists, to get a brake set-up that worked well on track but wasn’t compromised on the road. I’ve also made sure the fluids and filters are replaced very regularly, either by myself or my local garage.

The first owners had the car for around 100,000 miles and are clearly excellent petrolheads, as they also built and owned an Ultima… The R26 was then sold roughly once a year before I got to it, so my first service was a gigantic one at a local Renault specialist for peace of mind. This included the cambelt.

As a near 140,000 mile car, it’s not perfect, but it is in surprisingly good condition, without dings and scrapes on doors and corners. The cosmetic issues worthy of note are; some lacquer-peel on the bonnet, a mark on the roof where the first owners went under a height-restricted barrier with a bike on a roofrack and gravel rash on the leading edge of the rear wings. The previous owner removed all silencing and though I’ve added a sports cat to make it legal and MOT-able, it’s still quite loud. You may like this, but if not, I have a full OEM cat-back system available.

On the inside, it’s really in great condition. The seats are particularly good, with almost no bolster wear. The aircon is not great. I’ve added a minimum of 10bhp by using some carbon vinyl wrap on a few bits to break up the sea of grey plastic and added a leather binnacle cover with yellow stitching. Unusually, it also comes with a free wedding ring. This fell into the HVAC system while with the original owners and can occasionally be heard, but has never seen…

I also have the OEM Renault/O.Z. wheels available. Either add £200 to your offer and have both sets, or reduce the asking price by £500 and I’ll swap the O.Z. Rallys for OEM wheels.

The car is located near Tetbury in Gloucestershire. Any inspection welcome. Test drives with comprehensive insurance. Happy to do a video-call walk around and talk through the car so there are no surprises for a buyer. No swaps/PX.

  2. Hi. What’s the body work like in regards rust, previous repairs etc?

is it a standard car regarding the map?

    Thanks

  3. I'll give you a bell later as agreed, but for the benefit of the forum, there is very little rust that I can see, aside from the usual surface rust on the underside components. Where I could, I've treated that with Bilt Hamber Dynax S50.

The car is on a standard map. The previous owner was planning on mapping it, but the session showed a worn clutch which slipped so he replaced that and the flywheel, but obviously decided against a remap in the end as the clutch that went in was OEM.

  4. Car now sold. Thanks for all the messages.
