R25 RS F1 team from the Netherlands

  1. Hi everyone,

My name is Benjamin, 34 years old and living in the Netherlands.

Before next weekend I will be the owner of a R25 F1 team. The car stood in our dealership and after some talking with a colleague we agreed on a price. The car looks clean and a full service history was one of the reasons to buy this car. I wasn't in the market for a Mégane as my current car, a 2005 Clio B 1.6 16v is/was a really nice car to drive. It never let me down and I am a little sad to see it go, but I know for sure the Mégane will put a smile on my face.

I am not new into the Mégane world as i have owned a Mégane 1 phase 1 Coupé. I was into the whole styling your car thing, which wasn't practical sometimes near speedbumps. In the mean time I was looking for a hobby car and I wanted an Evo VI for some time. Looking back it wasn't what all that great. It costed me more money than expected. The car was undersealed completely, but after some time rust started to show. It wasn't all that clean and tidy. I thought I got a good car but eventually didn't.

I hope to get some info around here for tuning and handling possibilties.

  2. Welcome. Post pictures when you will get a car.

Welcome to the forum mate

  5. Thanks for the welcome.

Collected the car thursdayevening at the dealership. The drive home was nice and the car handled everything wel. It was more comfortable then I thought it would be. Took the car for a spin today and between the rainshowers was able to take a few pictures. The plan is to keep the car as original at is was. One of the previous owners added a Forge dumpvalve. Only plan of the future is when it's time to change the clutch to add an Quaife diff.

  6. Look good mate, and welcome to the forum.

  7. Nice one.

  8. Today there was a dyno meeting with Henk from Fastchip. First of all I wanted to know if the engine was in good condition. It was, so I decided to get a remap. Oh boy, I was in for a treat. It feels way more better than it was before. It just keeps going and going and I'm very pleased with the car now.

Not bad for a stock car.

  9. Very nice results indeed, especially HP wise!

  10. Attended a track day at Spa-Francorchamps begin June. With a car remapped and prepped as good as I could, I was ready. The French/Belgian spoke very little English, so it was sometimes difficult to understand what they were saying. Nevertheless did 5 sessions during the day and boy it was a experience never to forget. First time up Eau Rouge is very impressive. Loved the track and gained more confidence in the car and myself. Only found one picture of my car in action:

While waiting just walked across the paddock and took some pictures of my car.
