I'm after upgrading my brake pads that are coming on my 275 Cup S at the end of the month, I'm torn between the Yellow Stuff front and rear or Ferodo DS2500 front and rear? What pads are other people running? I'm upgrading due to fast road use and track use. Cheers
Tricky one. Loads of options that no one agrees with. Not a perfect solution of course as every pad does a different job. I don't know what fast road really means but OE pads are rarely challenged on the open road unless you live in the Alps. Depends how many TDs you a year and how much track background you have really. I am going to try PFC z-rated when I take delivery of my Cup-S in the hope that they will cope with 5 laps at 10/10ths and that they won't be too noisy on the road.
I would leave the discs well alone as they are plain. The French Meg RS forum is quite unanimous that the old fancy ones are more problematic which matches my experience. OE Lines should be fine particularly if new. They are braided anyway, just out of polymer or similar and rubber coated.
OEM lines are wank on them, Braided makes a massive difference. To the OP, If your going to be doing a good amount of TD's, Forget Yellows and DS2500's and get something decent, Loads of options out there for the Mk3 since it shares pad shape with Evos/Imprezas to name a couple.
Performance Friction are well thought of. I'm using Pagids rs29. Brill with my ap four pots on full fat e36 m3. No squeal, either.
The OE lines are braided too, internally and therefore out of sight. And out of a possibly stiffer material than steel which you can't see hence the massive placebo effect that fancy lines have.
I've got red stuff on mine....love them, best idea is to get some Mr Pinks pins and swap them every time you track it Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
I like the Carbon Lorraine RC6 but they squeal alot but the best I've used untill now are the Endless circuit compound CC43 ones. I also had Pagid RS29 , EBC Yellow , Brembo HP2000 , Ferodo DS 2500,Project MU type HC, Endless MX 72, and the next I'll be testing are Dixcel Z type pads.. The worst by far were the Brembo HP 2000 ones...
