  1. Hi, got myself a 55 plate megane 225 yesterday. Will be insuring, taxing and getting it on the road over the next week or so.

I'm new to french cars and know very little about these so will have plenty of questions I'm sure.

    Anyway, enough waffle. Pictures. 6fac65e6624890dbdd502cd79e9b502d.jpg

I used to own Trophy number No. 0443, what number is yours?

  5. Welcome

  6. Thanks guys, yes it is a trophy. I'll have a look to see what number it is when I get back.

I'm assuming the front mount intercooler isn't a standard feature....?

Welcome to the forum mate

  8. So mine is #0490

How many were made? I'm guessing no more than 9999.

  9. Welcome

  10. That looks a nice tidy example - welcome along.

    Got any plans for it?

  11. Cheers guys. Plans are Just drive it and see what it can do really.

I'm sure I will end up doing a few bits and bobs.

Is the front mount intercooler likely to be standard?

Yes, front mounted intercooler is standard.

  13. Got the megane insured and taxed today. Let the fun begin.

First issue.... Tyre pressure sensor fault. 5 minute research, seems common. Ill do some more digging tomorrow.

  14. ^^ A lot of these seem to deactivated due to faults or garages not wanting to handle the valves.

    pressure sensors, urghhh!

trophy looks nice mind! look after her.

  16. Yeah I've read that you can turn them off, but am i correct in thinking they all need to be working correctly before they can be de-activated.

Drove properly for the first time today. Really impressed so far.

  17. TPMS is all right if is working. Of not, then it costs too much to fix it. I am curious if it can be possible issue during MOT according to latest regulations.

Just mot'ed my car with a missing sensor on the screen and still passed

  19. I will find out about the mot part. Mot is up in December! New sensor is about £50 I believe. Then just fitting and programming which shouldn't be too bad.

  20. I was quoted £202 for single sensor (fitted). I was lucky RUK decided to contribute 90% towards it as car was just 3-4 months after warranty.

  21. Ok I was planning on fitting etc myself

  22. Right, so the auto wipers and auto lights aren't working either. When I put the wipers onto auto the service light comes on.

Is this likely to be the sensor in the windscreen?

  23. Check fuse first.

  24. Nice one. Will check tomorrow.

  25. Tyre pressure issue sorted. Sensors disabled for now.

Fuse for rain sensor is, ok the only other fault showing up is the "rain luminosity" sensor so guess that's the issue. Will look into replacing that next.
