Need new rubber

  1. MOT highlighted that the fronts are about 80% worn so going to need replacing in the not too distant future.

What can people recommend that won't break the bank as funds are in short supply currently.

    Car is an R26 btw.

  2. Vredestein vorti or uniroyal rainsport3 would be my choices....

  3. Vorti's get another vote from me too!

  4. Been running vorti's for quite a while and I'd give them a recommendation too. However, with the slight caveat that maybe they aren't the absolute be all and end all of tyre performance. Lateral grip performance seems pretty excellent however I find straight line grip a bit lacking and under power they aren't very progressive. With mine they have the tendency to grip up to a certain point and then let go entirely very quickly at the front end leaving you with lots of power understeer :X

I think I might try a more high end tyre next, as when I originally put the vorti's on it wasn't remapped but they're still a very good tyre I think in comparison to the more expensive competitors they sell themselves.

  5. My experience of rain sports is good however they wear down very quickly

  6. For the price of Rainsports you can get a better all round tyre like the Hankooks Ventus Evo 2. Superior buy.

  7. Agree with this.

Rainsport for ultra wet driving - they'll wear instantly in the summer imo

  8. My last rainsports lasted 6,000 miles

  9. Yoki Advan 105 ?

  10. I'd buy the advan v105, 99% dry performance of supersports 90% in wet, more feedback, less comfort

  11. As mentioned somewhere recently, I use Maxxis Victra Z3s and find the performance to price ratio amazing. My local garage run a track R26 and the owner has an R26.R and they recommended them. Now I would too.
