I am just about to hit the buy button on some new 225 40 18s for the R26. I have been running A048/Kuhmo/R888R so far on this car i can get 4 x r888r for around 625 and 2017 ar1 are 675 has anyone got any experience of the 2017 compound AR1 and feel it is better or worse than the current R888R

Hi, Coincidentally I am just about to post a trial "report" on my experience with the AR-1 on my 250 Cup with videos. I have the Toyo R888 on my R26-R and the AR-1 is in my opinion a much better option for the small price difference. The Toyo, either R888 or the newer R888-R has a tendency to overheat on the Nordschleife on a front wheel drive car however, a friend runs them on a BMW (E36) M3 car with good results.
2-17. The 2-16 was not suitable as it was not stable due to the high temperatures here at the Nordschleife where it was tested. The 2-17 was the a result of that test program.
