Mk3 RS250 Lower swivel bearing cost!!

  1. Took my car in today to get this part replaced and I've been quoted £200 for the part alone from Renault...per side! That's for the whole assembly as they don't sell just the insert.

    I've found the insert here:

Any reason why Renault don't do just the bearing and am I fine to buy the bearing and have it pressed in AND is there an uprated version around???

  2. Because Renault dont want you to rebuild them..they want you to buy new..even though its a glaring fault on both mk2 and mk3 redesigned assembly.

  3. Renault make more money that way. Think the going rate is £175 a corner but if your handy with spanners, I'd buy a press and do it yourself

Find somewhere that knows what they are doing and have experiance, I pay 220 for having all 4 done on mine

Give Midlands Renault Specialist a shout, about £100 a side from memory, he's worth the drive.

  6. Thanks all, I'll get some ordered and ask my guy to do the job that way! Was going to get the wheel bearings done at the same time but will hold off for now.

I really ought to do my wheels bearings, originals still at 115k now [emoji23]

  8. Renault do sell the bearing on its own for the N4 Variant which is a motorsprt version.
You need to ask specifically for it to the Renault sport dealer

  9. Anyone know the part number? I'm calling Renault today anyway and will ask the parts department.

  10. the new number (7711167656) is definitely a 250 part number. its the replacement balljoint from a megane N4. if you google it, you will find some on russian / polen sites. there you will also find the other part number (8200438088) at the same site.
if you google that number you will find that it is a part from a renault clio cup race car. at axl racing team the balljoints are € 37,64
i will order one to find out if it is the right one.

  11. Taken from another thread...

  12. The ones i ordered from R.sport are Part no 8200438088 Clio 200 lower ball joint 7711167656.

  13. Renault said that the 82 part number is no longer a valid part number. 77 is the one to use, £94 ish from the stealer. I'm going to get the top joints done at the same time, might as well.

  14. £41 + vat what I paid for the lowers. Each.
