Hi I would like to show you some mods I have done to the car.Over the years I have modified a lot of thing and I'm still not done. This is how it all starts: Bought totaly standard megane. It is only one in Slovenia as Renault didn't sell this model. This car came to Slovenia by request and it was personal signed and approved from the Dieppe factory. First mod was stage 1 from RSTuning and than intercooler and stage 2 And than it was all down hill from money point of view Bought R26.R suspension, quaife LSD, stiffer lower arm bush, change front ARB for R26, added rear ARB also from R26.Made some lower subframe modifications to stiffen and to limit the subframe movement... Than I had some fun [/IMG] Than I added hybrid, injectors, exhaust, SMF and AP Racing drive plate, maped to 320/310.Car was fast.On track days I was very competitive. The car was fast, but it was not 100 %.Later I found that the compresion on 2 and 3 cilinder was low and decision was made to FORGED the engine . When the engine was apart the problem regards the compresion was leaking valves and not pistone rings.Engine at 100.000 km of hard driving was as new not kidding. (apart from leaking valves) Fist head mod.....in progress Honed, washed and ready to assemble [/IMG] Ahh I'm on goodsspeed 330 discs and Pagid RS5 pads First run anfter rebuild. On video below the car was maped and the turbo was maxed out. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eLYjqBqNwVs Some videos from RedBull ring Porsche battle Dry The next mods are fuel system (probable from RS250, fuel pump, rising rate fuel preassure regulator and fuel rail ), exhaust manifold and GTX2867 on tial hausing from RSTuning, 870 injectors and a loooooong drive to Leeds for maping Hope you enjoyed
Car looks great mate, just remember to keep the updates coming Iv been looking at the gtx2867 and 3071, but not sure if the power will be too much for road or track, so managed to talk myself out of ordering the turbo kit last week, also found ATPower and Jenvey will make fuel rails to suit the megane and adjustable fuel pressure regulators...
I'd love to be this dedicated to my car, I've always wanted to flood a lot of cash on mods to make if something individual, I have to many interests and places to spend my cash to justify it! Well done to you it looks great!
Very impressive!! I'm curious - did you find that Fuchs Sintofluid to be a good gearbox oil for 225/R26 or did you settle on something else?
Thank you very much to all for nice replays. @Steaven 878 The reason I'm thinking to go with bigger turbo is surge on my hybrid.Than I don't like.It is not bad and it is not limiting performance in any way but surely this can be good for the turbo or the engine. Also when I'm pushing the car the intake temperatures are high. Some times the temp. can go to almoust 60 degrees. I will email the AT power to see what can they offer as I also need rising rate fuel preassure regulator. @Dimitri_BRP On this track day the helmets were not mandatory, but otherwise I were the helmet! @probecomp Sintofluid were not bad, but I have chage to Castrol TAF-X whitch is much better! The gear box is smooth and it is also quieter. Regards the trip to Leeds.I have alredy done the trip to RSTuning.I was my friends car (R26) It was one of the first car with hibrid turbo. It made 293 bhp and to much torque for stock engine Does anyone know for any rs250 that is writen off and the owner would like to sell it for parts? I need fuel pump, fuel rail with rising rate fuel preassure regulator. Some more random pics that I could include in first post.
If your wanting to have a fuel rail made i may know a few others that are interested, so possible group purchase also i have a spare standard fuel rail to send to ATPower, might be worth mentioning my name as i spoke to them a couple of months ago. My hybrid with the billet compressor wheel doesn't seem to surge. Paul noticed a tiny little bit of surge after he mapped it, but not the usual stall! Iv been told a kkk k24 hybrid turbo, with 73mm billet compressor wheel will fit the megane manifold and downpipe, if you don't fancy a massive turbo, but still want 420bhp.
I will take you up on that... yes I know about K24 but it is still a theory as I'm not to sure the exhaust manifold will flow 420.And at the end of the day this turbo is not goin to last as i will be maxed out! I have to doit properly as I'm to far from a good tuner to play with different turbos.
I forgot your so far away mate, so probably best just to buy a gtx turbo kit. A gtx28 should be maxed at 400bhp on a non vvt engine, so maybe a gtx30 will be a better choice? let me know if and when your wanting to change your fuel system and ill send the rail to ATPower Have you looked into the fuel system upgrade and parts required?...parts work out at around £900!
Appreciate your help Steaven.should be a little cheper if I use the parts from rs250.As all I need is pump and fuel rail..and ofcourse 870 injectors.gtx30 is maybe a little to lagy.gtx28 should make 400 on 0.86 housing with 1.5/1.6 bar of boost.for this turbo 1.6 bar should be no problem.reading the map it is in very efficiency arrea.
What iv found is parts from the 250 wont help. You need to use the standard fuel pump to fill a swirl pot and then use a bosch044 fuel pump to supply the rail, but the pump cant be solid mounted or the noise will drive you crazy. a adjustable fuel pressure regulator is also needed, so starts getting expensive! Also aeroquip fittings are recommended and not cheap! gtx28 should be a good unit for what you want, but i would also look at the owen developments gt2871r hta hybrid. A turbodynamist on another site said hes bench tested both units back to back and the hta unit is superior to the gtx unit. wouldn't call it help, just random useless info iv acquired over the years of playing with cars
Steaven fuel system from rs250 alredy has the raising rate fuel pressure regulator on the rail.and fuel pump is 5 bar+3 bar on regulator when you are on boost.i don't like the idea of ousite pump .one is noice es you mentioned end you can always smell the petrol.fuel sistem on rs250 with 630 injectors can manage 400.to be safe I'm going with 870 deka injectors. do you have any links for that turbo? It's certanly intersting to se the development.
I thought it had a rising rate, but I'm sure Paul said it doesn't. Something to do with no return line so the system still suffers from fuel surge, as the pressure is still regulated from the pump in the tank. also not sure if the 250 injectors would fit a mk2 manifold? The fuel system is a headache i dont have any info mate, but might be worth emailing owen developments and ask what they recommend?
Yes it is on the rail.I will not use rs250 injectors they are too small.Need deka 870 cc injectors to be safe.
Sorry mate i didn't mean 250 injectors... 250 injectors are alot bigger than 225 injectors, so will the 870cc units fit the 250 rail and 225 manifold? i would maybe speak to paul on the fuel system, as im not sure the 250 setup will be what you need
Steaven, I have alredy talk to paul.Fuel rail from rs250 was my idea and below is answer from Paul. That setup should suport 400+ HP Paul ..."you must have rising rate pressure, you could fit the 250 pump and rail with 80lb injectors. This should do it."
Parts ordered.I have gone with gtx3071 and tial 0,63 housing.regards the fuel system I will go with the swirl pot and dw301 fuel pump. http://www.radiumauto.com/DeatschWerks-DW300-Equipped-Fuel-Surge-Tanks-P275.aspx update as soon as the parts arrive.
Surge tank with DW300 fuel pump is here.Turbo kit is done.Paul is waiting for the fuel rail and then it's ready to post.
That surge tank looks very nice mate Was at RSTuning last week, where Paul told me he had a few parts waiting to be shipped to yourself. Also told me he had 2 big turbo kits in stock and i should purchase one. Haha
Thank you.It does look good.Hope it will work as it shoud Yes Steven I can not wait to get the parts.Paul is right you shoud buy the kit .You can wait until my car is completed and than I will upload a video or two for you to decide .
Ill message you when i get home from holiday mate. Going to try tweaking the hybrid setup and if its still fast enough ill get a gtx30 turbo kit iv been in pauls car at 370bhp, but felt very smooth, i want a car that comes on boost hard, almost like a t4 sierra cosworth
He does say he's been running that exhaust for almost a year, maybe not a time traveller but a test bed?
