250 Knocking from front right

  1. Hello everyone, today I noticed a knock coming from the front right when going over bumps. It doesn't seem to knock when steering sharply at low speed. Also the steering seems not as precise as before.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks in advance

  2. Bottom ball joint.

  3. I've just had the same thing. Turned out to be a knackered front shock

  4. Cheers guys, I'll get her booked in.

  5. Hi Nick. Do you mind letting me know what the problem was? Im going to jack mine up and check for play this weekend, I've heard things about engine mounts too, I cant tell what side the noise is coming from so that could even be the issue

  6. Will do mate , I'm booking it in to the garage Monday.

  7. Did you find out what it was? ive had an intermittent knocking noise on mine now for the last couple of months but no one seems to able to pin it down! flew through mot, had it ramps to check lower ball joint and still can not locate it. Is yours doing it all the time or only in specific circumstances ?

  8. Sorry for the slow reply guys, I picked my car up today. The problem was the lower ball joint, the symptoms was knocking going over humps etc and very notchy steering. It seems to torque steer a bit now but I'll put that down to it needs aligning.

  9. If it pulls to one side and then when you lift it goes back, sounds like it's still fecked. Mine did that, despite no obvious play in the wheel... couple of ring laps later and it's undriveable

They torque steer like Fuck when the tracking is out, mine was terrible for it after I had mine done

  11. Thanks, kinda confirms my suspicion of it being lower ball joint. I'll get mine booked in.
