Inner tie rods

Discussion in 'Suspension, Brakes, Wheels & Tyres section' started by Jaysport, Apr 29, 2014.

  1. Afternoon all, I have just brought new inner tie rods , track rod ends and drop links for my trophy. As it's feeling a bit sloppy,
question is how to get to the inner tie rod nuts ?
Would it be possible if I turn it on full lock to reach the nut/ coupling from the wheel arch ? Going to do both sides ,

You need a tool to do these

  3. I put mine of full lock and managed to grab with a pair of grips, it was a bit of a struggle though, I have seen the tool mentioned by MicKPM though and it looks like it would be a doddle using this.

The correct tool makes the job 400% easier!

  5. Cheers for the info ,
i like to struggle and don't like to spend money, so looks like a day of fun ahead

  6. sorry for OT, but does anyone know if some better tie bars and track rod ends are available than the OEM Renault parts ?

  7. Ok quick update,
borrowed tie rod remover from a mate , new drop links on, tie rod ends on however the stock tie rods are 250mm the tie rods I have been sent and also what pretty much every supplier lists are 230mm ,
i have checked with 3 different suppliers today and they all list the same rods for all meganes this is not correct, so no old ones are back on for time being,
I think so far that only renault will supply the correct part, at £50 each side,

  8. They are a Renault only part for the sport I'm afraid. Think ads sells them for £40 ish a side

Non gen ones are always too short for sports.

Best to go gen for inners and non gen is fine for outers.

  10. As above I found this out doing mine

  11. Any photos of these parts
