How much it would cost to build R26 replica?

  1. Guys, how much it could cost to buy a R26 and transform it to R26R (as close as it possible)?

Edit: I made mistake in title, should be R26R :tongueout: I am not able to amend it.

  2. Ask lee scunny, he's building one, he's got the real cage and the genuine sabelt seats , don't think theirs much he hasn't got

  3. Genuine new parts around 8-10k

    Aftermarket/different parts 5k

Thats if you have an r26 to start

there is a few people now that have r26r reps/ better than cars

  4. If its for track days you would be better spending a few quid on an R26, be a better track car for half the money , unless you want a look a like

There is normal amount require ti build Replica not too high and nor to low,so you can build it in a middle rate or about 3k $ are enough to build it,actually i am a mechanic by profession and also run a workshop,so i know well about it.

  8. It is getting hold of the parts in the first place that's the problem. I got most of the parts from 1 place but its things like seats & gear lever trim ect that are hard to come by. Be prepared to spend a few quid though.

  9. I never understood the "replica" concept myself.

If I wanted to build a nice fast road or track car, then I would build something unique and different. Just look at what some people have already built on this forum, really great cars and not an R26R sticker among them.

Is it just lack of imagination?

  10. So because there isn't a sticker it's not a replica?

  11. It's not like the while .R concept is something new. Lots of people who regularly track their cars will have added a cage, put in new seats/harnesses and taken a lot of weight saving measures. If someone does that to their BMW then it's a serious track car, if they do it to their Megane then it's a .R copy? Really?

I've seen quite a few MKII Meganes with cages and stripped interiors, and neither of them appeared to be trying to replicate the .R.

If you start putting .R stickers on it and matching up the styling accordingly to try and pass it off as a .R, then of course it's a replica.

Heck, there are plenty of MKIII R.S' without back seats and remaps - does that mean they're trying to replicate the new Trophy R? Of course not.
