Hoping someone can help me diagnose a problem with my 225. For the last couple of weeks it was suffering with an intermittent misfire. I was getting random misfire fault codes on my cheap obd reader and sometimes a check injection message on the instrument cluster. While it was misfiring, i pulled the coil connectors off in turn and found that disconnecting coil 3 made no difference to the misfire so assumed that changing that coil was the first step. So, i replaced with a new genuine coil from Renault as well as a new set of the correct plugs. The misfire seems to have gone away but now the idle speed is up at 1000rpm even when the car is up to normal temp. Any ideas what might cause this? Thanks!
I would suspect that you have an air leak somewhere The coils are in pairs 1 and 4, 2and 3, your number 3 coil must have short circuited inside, mine went open circuit and i lost two cylinders. Check engine light would have been because unburnt fuel was detected by the lambda sensors
