Hi from Italy - Megane RS 250 Cup Extreme blue

Discussion in 'New to the Club? Why not introduce yourself?' started by Gardus, Feb 18, 2015.

  1. Hi guys, I'm Roberto from Italy.
I bought a Megane RS 250 Cup 2010 a year ago, in the (quite rare here) extreme blue.

Since then I put some new rubbers on it (Supersports), a catback exhaust...and a lot of fuel!

On Sunday I have a trackday and between now and then I'll have:
    catless downpipe
ECU remap by Biesse Racing (hope to see 300 hp & 400nm with 95 RON fuel)
    Brembo HP2000 pads
    CTF braided hoses
    RBF660 brake oil
    ITG panel filter
    Motul gearbox and engine oil

Previous cars were a Clio RS 2002 (full fat, lots of mods), a Clio 3 1.2 TCE (for a few years, saving up for the Meg), a Mini Cooper and (briefly) a Honda S2000.
We also have a 350Z and a Cooper R56 in the family.

I work at a high performance exhaust company here in Italy.

    Cheers!

  2. Love the blue ... Nice car ! Is higher octane fuel available in Italy ? Would have thought that power level is unlikely on 95 plus knock potential higher too

  3. Welcome along, I'm a newbie myself! I think it's quite a rare colour everywhere for the RS's as I've only ever seen a couple.

  4. Hi Roberto, welcome mate.

Nice car and car history there.

Is the cat back exhaust you have put on the Megane the same as your company makes?

  5. Welcome mate.

  6. @Xanda73 yest obviously otherwise I would get fired  just kidding.
Centre unsilenced pipe and E.E.C. approved muffler.
I'm also planning a bypass valve, so when it's open it'll be a straight pipe from the turbo to the exit...can't wait to hear it!

@downhuman: I tested my car completely stock and I was happy to see it has more power than claimed.
I'm happy to have a MAHA dyno just out of my office door. Here's the chart, test with 95RON fuel (and yes, we have 100 ron fuel in Italy, but it's quite expensive...1.7€/l agaist 1.45€/l right now).

265hp and 354nm, not bad. I hope I can make it to 300...
    Even if it's just 295, it's ok.
I plan to fit a Proalloy intercooler sometimes in the future anyway.

  7. Welcome! I love that blue!

  8. Thanks! It was quite hard to find!

  9. I like the colour, nicely polished aswell

  10. Not so clean now, it's still dirty from the last snowfall!

  11. Welcome

  12. Nice car in a nice colour

And it performs almost like a 265 stock (just missing 5 Nm)

  13. Well..no.
The 265, at least the Trophy we tested, was close to 280hp.

I'm fitting the downpipe right now. Damn turbo flange bolts!

    Nice color yours too :tongueout:

  14. Yesterday:
    Catless downpipe and front pipe

To go with the rest of the system, already on the car:

I also tuned the ECU for full catless system and 95 RON fuel (I use 100 very seldom)

Today service (Motul RBF660 for brakes, X-Cess for engine, 300 LS for transmission), panel filter, braided brake hoses (CTF) and Brembo HP2000 pads:

  15. The mechanic in the picture is moving so fast he's blurred!!!

  16. 95 RON fuel? Don`t you have any 98?

  17. We have 95 and 100. 98 hasn't been on sale for a while now.
    I usually use 95, much cheaper, (1,45 €/l vs 1,7 €/l)

  18. We got Barry Allen as a mechanic :tongueout:
