So, I’m new to this RS Megane world but I’m after a 5 door. My confusion is where they fit in the strata of Cups and Trophy’s and R26’s. I’m looking at a couple of 225s and my pondering is based around whether these 5 doors benefitted from the improvements made to the 3 door when they picked up the Cup elements to improve the car from the early versions they talk scathingly of in the PistonHeads buying guides. can anyone help me out her ? thanks all Sean
Welcome Sean, R26’s are 3 door only as I believe are trophy models. The cup chassis was available on the 5 door though, which will have the trophy/r26 multi spoke wheels, Brembo 4 pots up front and slightly lower stiffer suspension. No limited slip diff on them however unless it’s been retro fitted or swapped to an r26 gearbox. Hope this helps.
