1. Hello all

I've come over from Meganesport.net (username over there is Chris Davidson). I've been on there since 2010 back when I bought my car so I recognise quite a few of the users on here already. Only just found this site. not sure why it took so long. Only been on a day and there's loads of info available. Free too which is a bonus!

I have a 2010 RS250 Cup, in white just tipped over the 37k mile mark. Owned from new, more or less standard bar some minor brake upgrades, BMC air filter, centre silencer removal and some sticky tyres for trackdays. Awesome 'out of the box' car and a fantastic track tool, mine has seen about 25-30 laps of the ring and plenty of UK circuits too.

Planning to treat it to a re-map it some time this year, other than that it just gets plenty of TLC and copious amounts of petrol!

    Hello mate

I hope your going to start using it a bit harder this year

  9. Welcome pal

  10. Good morning. How did you find the car at the `Ring`?

  11. Jamie - Once I've given it a bit of a refresh then yeh. You know I don't thrash mine as you do! New discs are required before I start hooning it again. It did a trackday last year anyway. Hard to justify thrashing it when I have a proper track toy in a lock up.

T&biskits - The car is very much well suited to the ring. I lived in Germany for 2.5 yrs with the forces so I was fortunate enough to be insured fully comp on the ring with german insurance (UK insurers won't even extertain it - it's not the damage to your car, its the potential after effects that costs the most $$$). As a result, I drove it hard (mental considering it was only weeks old from delivery) and although I never timed myself I would estimate that I was getting around 8.30 lap times on std set up (The car was only on about 5k miles too!. I've driven about 20 laps in the Megane (many more in other cars) all on std tyres and brakes etc. In the dry, the grip was fantastic and you could really push it. I've driven wet laps but with caution, for obvious reasons. The lines change significantly, as does the grip! Pushing it hard it would literally get 5 laps to a full tank but as I was on subsidised fuel vouchers it wasn't too bad on the wallet back then. I wouldnt mind going back with sticky tyres, better brakes etc and see how it pedals around now. Sadly the insurance woes put me off though.

I'll see what pics I've got on my iPad/netbook/photobucket later. I'm away from home atm but I'm sure I can dig some out (inc from the ring). I should have a couple from UK circuits too (Angelsey, Goodwood, Cadwell) as well as from when I collected it new.

  14. Got me before I could edit it.

Yeh, well spotted. British Forces Germany (BFG) registration.

First two are at Anglesey, 2011. Whenever I edit it deletes some of the text for some reason.

Haha i know, Only winding you up. TBH if i had a track toy i probably wouldn't bother with taking the Megane near a track.

Need to get them out together at some point this year!

  18. Yeh, defo. Um'ing and ah'ing about the NL goodwood trackday in august. It's a great track, fast too especially in the megne but 15 min sessions and it's a trek from melton, let alone Tyndrum. Can be quite costly overall.

Oulton park would be a good one. I did that once from Leuchars. Took the fiesta on it, not done it with the megane yet. Anglesey is good too, the megane is suited to that track.

Yours would be quicker than mine, with the mods you've done. Mine is nigh on std still.

I won't be doing much in the way of TD's til later on in the year anyway, Still needs a bit of work done to it and money is a bit tight at the moment.

I'll probably try and get to goodwood for the social at least, If not there then one of the other NL days
