  1. hello, I hope someone can help me on here, im very interested in a megane 230 r26 that is for sale at a place called motorhouse in Birmingham. its reg is MV57 ZDG does anyone know anything about this car?. The salesman on the phone have been very vague with me and says there is no service history with the car but tells me its had only one owner. I was thinking of looking at it but its a good 3 hour drive away so I though id try and get some more info on here first. Renault uk have confirmed with me that they have no service record of the car.

  2. I wouldn't bother take your time amd find a good one with good History
it took me 6 months to find my R26.

  3. I'd stay away. I've been up there recently. To look at an m3. Even though it had FSH I stayed well away. All the guys seem a bit fishy. Couldn't care if you were interested in it or not etc etc. They are all parked up bumper to bumper. So you cannot even have a good look around the car.

  4. Try posting the reg and a picture on the facebook page as well mate - might reach a wider audience.

Heard stories of blatantly clocked R26 in Birmingham only a couple of weeks ago........

  5. Swerve it mate, if the bloke is being vague and the is no service history, especially if they want good money for it.
How much do they want for it?
It's hard not to be eager when you have your heart set on one but it will cost you a lot of coin to put it right if it's a nail, and you will never get your money back when you move it on.
A well looked after example with good history will hold its value much better.
Just have the money ready to go and be prepared to travel for the right one, as they don't stay around for long.

  6. Its up for 7k with 38,000 miles
They did say they had mot history so milage can be seen to be genuine?

  7. Top whack that really that mate, what's the colour?
White tend to go for 500-1000 more.
I would want to see evidence of the belts being done too and it would have to be mint for 7k

  8. Black, I think I'm gonna give this one a miss then!
    Cheers for your help

im still torn between jdm civic ep3 and r26 so I'll take my time!

  9. I also called these guys about a car I wanted to look at and they couldn't give me any information. I personally didn't and wouldn't buy from them as they have no interest in the cars or customers, just churning out cars

  10. Do they warranty the car for a year?
IMHO, No service history no sale my friend, simple as.

I'd be concerned about MotorHouse they have bad reviews.

  12. Please please please avoid!!! Google the following;

Motorhouse Birmingham Mail, the owner was sent to prison for clocking cars. I looked at a red R26 there before I bought mine and it was a Cat D, no history, no receipts for repairs and the mileage was showing about 38,000 on the clocks. A quick text check and the last MOT had it at 52,000!!!

Tried to tell me the clocks must have been changed from when it was damage repaired lol!

    Avoid at all costs.

  13. It's still up for sale! And still advertised at 38k on the clock.

  14. Yeah mate saw that - take a look below;

  15. Maybe try KTR sales ? I got mine from there amd it's mint with full history etc.

  16. Cat D too !!

  17. For £7k you want a clean car, decently low mileage, FSH with belts done, ideally receipts to show its had stuff done to it too (things do go wrong!).

I'm not selling mine, but if I did I would advertise it for low 7's - it's had a shitload spent on it with all receipts, FSH, refurbed wheels, 49k miles etc. my brother in law recently bought one for £6k, it's done 88k miles but had £4k spent on it in the last 18 months and had a folder full of receipts.

  18. Another heads up; that red cat D was the one i was looking at.

The gentlemen there have no data or information on it at all. Were quite honestly rude and obnoxious, i wouldn't purchase it.

It was also up for £5495 when i was inquiring and wouldn't budge at ALL.

Save your pennies for something reputable

Ha. Some poor plonker will buy it though!

  20. I got a white r26 lux, for 6k recently. Had 55k miles all belts done etc. it needed two new back wheels and the discs doing at some point. Very good condition generally, very happy with it

  21. £4k ! What did it have done ?

  22. I paid £9000 for my R26 lux. 35k miles one owner from new just serviced with belts etc. two year warranty. Looked at 5 before this one so was happy with what I got.
