Hi, I've just signed up as I'm on the hunt for an R26 230. I have done a fair bit of homework on my next car and was juggling between the R26 230, Civic Type R FN2, Mazda 3 Mps & Ford Focus St. Having previously owning an MB6 Vti before, it was practical, was very reliable however ragging it to keep it going got a bit tiresome at times so this put me off the FN2. Reading up on the Mazda 3 MPS seemed great for practicality and performace, however the road tax was a no thanks. The Focus St again seemed like an option but there seems to be limited specialist garages around also I'm not very familiar with the Ford family apart from upsetting Fiesta St's regularly on my private runway in the Clio, so I decided to stick with Renault Sport and go for the Megane. I recently sold my Clio 172 it was a great car so much fun. It was genuinely just as reliable as the Civic however I just feel it was time for something a bit more useable lol. Anyways I will be sure to ask folks for any info/ideas. Cheers Sean
Hi Sean. I have had a R26R, R26, and now a Megane engine Clio. The R26 is a great car, easy to upgrade, fairly cheap to run. Look on the forums, eBay etc.,for a good one. If you find one, and are not sure, ask on here for advice. Good hunting.
