Hi guys, Had a pretty quiet front end knock for the last couple of thousand miles, seems to be coming from the driver side front. Only really audible when the fans and radio are both off but it is there. Car is a Mk3 RS. Took it for a free suspension check and we had a nose around underneath, the guys said the ball joints look fine (although was only really a visual inspection, do you need to do any more than that to determine whether they're buggered?) so that seems to be the common suspect out. Top mounts and springs also seemed fine. They did however reckon there was some play in the steering rack, but couldn't go into any more details without a shaker plate. On the basis of the above, what are the best next steps/any ideas? Cheers!
I'm having trouble with a knock in the front of mine. The dealer I bought it from have looked at it and so have Renault. They claim it's absolutely fine, but it's still knocking. Drives me mad...
For front end knock sound over uneven surface check drop links and ant swivel links, both can produce a light knocking sound
I had my passenger side spring rotate out of place and was not seated correctly after a spirited drive causing the spring to bind on the inner seat which was a pretty annoying knock. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
