I've noticed today that when I lift off the throttle under moderate boost that shortly after the 'tssssshhh' of the Forge DV (fitted last Feb at KTec), there's a 'buuuuuur' sound, sounds like a sigh almost that seems to come from more the drivers side of the car?? Anyone got any ideas? Sounds like it's something leaking air/pressure on lift off. I can't hear jack shit on the throttle with the ITG, stage 2 turbo and general lack of sound deadening!
Perfect time to buy a Properfekt recirc valve Springs are not uncoomon to snap, you need to take it off an have a loook
Thanks Mikey, I've ordered the service kit and stronger blue idler spring from Forge...hope that solves it!
I used to have the forge BOV but was never really happy with it. I hated the way it fits and found it too loud. Not to talk about the color coding for the springs. Is it the big spring, little spring, yellow, blue? I always used stiffer springs even though I had less pressure than they specified. oh... and the chrome! I hate chrome! For me the BOV from clm-racing really works. It has proper fitting and feels sturdy. https://www.clm-racing.com/moteur/dump-valves/dump-valve-clm-megane-3-rs
My favourite BOV from back in the day was the HKS SSQV..I think Gontier Racing and others do something similar.
Yeah, you are right. I saw they all use a similar design. How did you fit your Forge? Do you have a picture with it? In my case it broke the plastic it was supposed to be attached to and know my insulation is pealing down.
I might end up buying one of them at some point. The Forge was fitted to the under windscreen shield and it was fine until some garage or other tried to remove things and didn't see it attached and snapped the plastic. I just drilled some holes in the plastic and cable tied it into place.
