Flywheel Replacement

Discussion in 'Mechanical - Engine, Gearbox, Exhaust etc' started by Mash, Jul 13, 2019.

  1. The RS250 I bought has a lightweight flywheel and I am looking at changing it back to the original; the noise it’s making is quite horrific.

I’ve found an original one secondhand for less than half the price of a new one. Would it be a stupid idea to put a used one in instead of paying the extra for a new one?

Also if anyone is interested in the lightweight flywheel let me know, it was only installed last October so is fairly new.

  2. several DMF have split over time mine inc. and replacement are steep as can imagine, be gamble buying s/h

  3. Ah right will probably have to cough up the extra then. Cheers

  4. Think they’re still an exchange unit so would have to surrender yours first

  5. I personally would never buy second hand for parts like this... You don't know what the previous owner of the part did with it and once its in your hands and you can observe the condition properly you don't really have a leg to stand on if you want to send it back.
