Right, bare with me on this one. See if you can think of anything else I can check. Basically the meg doesn't feel 100%. She just doesn't feel planted like she used to. Like she's torque steering in corners and unsettled. It's hard to explain but something just isn't right. It felt like all the issues were on the N/S (as turning left she'd unsettle) but after replacing the rotation links it's generally across the front of the car now, which me makes me think it's tracking.. Possibilities... I 'think' it's slightly off on tracking as after I had it aligned last June it was much better, on route to France a TRE broke (due to shoddy fitting) and we luckily refitted another bolt at the port but I've not had an alignment since. Last year I replaced the rear beam for a ph2 one, that could need dropping and realigning as I know it's not 100% symmetrical, but when are they from factory...? When I fitted the V3s a few years ago one of my top mounts fell apart, we rebuilt it but the N/S front suspension often clunks under full turn and over speed bumps, especially when she's cold. The N/S CV joint gator is torn and needs replacing, it clinks on slower speed turning but again I can't see it being a contributing factor here? What I've already addressed... I had the anti twist links replaced last week and I know the calipers aren't sticking.bit does however pull slightly to the left under braking (again I'm thinking tracking?) Horizontal drop links are fine and O/S hub has been rebuilt whilst the N/S has been checked and I know it is fine. I've replaced the lower gearbox mount & added powerflex bush (need to do uppers) but very much doubt that will affect this issue. In short, I need to look at some new tyres, tracking, replacing N/S top mount and maybe dropping the rear beam and simply rechecking its fitment before its nailed back on with powerflex bushes and hopefully I'll have sorted it. Anything else I can look at before I reshell the bastard? It's a boggle that I can't be doing with anymore.
Try the steering rack bush mate, sadly I took the rack out of mine and had it sent off as when we found mine at fault none of this bush replacement was about, it made the steering really vague and used to pull about, completely changed the car when fixed.
That was another consideration yeh Ed, I should get that sorted... Sure there's updated bush too if memory serves me right.
