For those that have Red wheels on their .R or non .R MK2 Megane, Has anyone had them refurb'd and if you have had them powder coated any idea on what colour was used that is similar to the OEM 727 Capsicum Red?

  2. I had my alloys refurbished by a company called the Wheel Specialist (I live in NE England but they do have franchises nationwide), I just went for the standard satin black but they claim to be able to match any factory colour with a slightly longer turn around time.

I obviously only have experience from this franchise so can't comment on the standard of work in other areas but they did an absolutely top job and the finish is guaranteed for twelve months.

Wheels are getting powder coated not painted as they are more durable IME. Had a quote from the Wheel Specialist up here as well, Laughed my way out the door

  4. From factory they're painted, and crap. Didn't take long for them to flake.

I have no idea what the code was, but we matched his red to my red wheels prior to blasting and coating. Looks good, it'll be £150 to someone hes' not met before I reckin.

  5. Had my spares done in letterbox red, slightly brighter but not really noticeable

  6. i got mine powder coated from Lepsoms in post box red and they look great

Mine are a similar colour to yours as well, Just getting them down Black this time though, CBA with faded shite looking callipers again.

  10. Jamie. Are you getting your wheels done in red?

I was going to start a similar thread the other week. My wheels are starting to flake etc so I'll be looking to get a refurb this summer. With a white car I think they look awesome in black but I was curious to see what they'd be like in red.

Some chap on here has a mate in Notts near me that will strip and powder coat all 4 wheels for £120.

    Maybe

Mine are ruined from the various aggressive pads i have been running. No amount of cleaning is going to get them looking decent as they are now a nice shade of grey/brown.

  12. that some chap is me
