Chrome is grand, but i agree that something extra would be nice. What colour's your car? Could knock up a photoshop or two!
I'm sure a few have done it on here. I'll be looking to do the same, ends up black mostly anyways! Or you could buy some carbon piece off the shelf, but it's silly dear for what it is imo.
My cars oyster grey. Was thinking matte/satin black. Will give it a bit more of a raw look at the rear. I love the porsche GT cars that have black tips, looks cool, and the Akra carbon tip looks mega on the Megane! Just worried about spraying and it flaking off as it gets very hot
As long as the chrome surround gets a decents scuffing and you use a high temp paint, it should stay on. Not sure how hot that wee plastic piece gets.
You could always try cerakote. Application process doesn't look like it can be carried out in situ eBay sell it
Milltek are now using this product which is now being used to coat firearms http://www.cerakoteguncoatings.com/finishes/?gclid=CKyLuciGuc4CFQYSGwodeXsHeA
Exhaust and rear diffuser dipped: https://www.facebook.com/DetailingUK/photos/?tab=album&album_id=1106628846086671
Cheers Not sure about the roof but I think it's growing on me Wanted something subtle with the dipping and really pleased with how it came out. Roof I went for trophy-R kinda look but didn't know how it was going to pan out Think it works ok. Gloss may have been a bit like "woah it's one big shiny roof" and without the weave of the carbon effect it looked dull. It's easily changed Nick at DMC is a top bloke though, highly recommended
@jack250 you end up doing this mate? I’ve just ordered a sheet of 3m matte carbon wrap as the chrome on mine has started to peel! Obviously I’ll take it off the car but do I place the wrap over the whole thing heat it and then cut or pre cut it? Cheers
I sprayed mine mate with some paint from halfords. I sanded the surface, primed and did a fair few coats. Been sound for ages now mate!
