Door Mouldings / Side Strips

Discussion in 'Exterior & Bodywork' started by RMDavis, Aug 7, 2017.

  1. Very simple question chaps, and one that I imagine is a silly one to ask but I can't find the answer online.

On my R26 the door mouldings are colour coded to the body colour, but they still retain a slight texture that you may associate with an unpainted moulding.

My question is this normal? Or should they be completely smooth and painted like a regular body panel?

  3. I don't know whether it has anything to do with the body colour, but looking at a few black cars for sale and it does appear the mouldings are a slightly different finish. It's very hard to see though!

  7. Mines got that horrid rubbery coating that melts.

It'll be scrubbed and painted in the near future.

Anyone know if non sport models are plain plastic similar to non sport clios?
