Alright Chaps haven’t been on for a while, hope all is good with your Mégane. Got a creak coming from my steering on full lock at parking speeds. Car has done 73,000 miles, got M.O.T coming up it will pass because I know the bloke but would like to sort the issue obviously. Any ideas what’s worn out? Any ideas/feedback welcome. Cheers.
I agree, 80% you have a little play in a swivel or both. If you accept an advise, replace both sides.
About 70GBP?? I would fit a heavy duty ones, for a bit more money. And the labor will be about 2 or 3 hours. Do these swivel joints come out easily or can be a bastard? My dad has a press not sure what pressure it goes up to think it’s 10 tonne, would that do the job?
For sure they'll be a nightmare, but your dad's press will be enough. Look for a good base of wood or nylon for avoid damages in the aluminium hub. A guy I know did the job with a hammer and you can imagine how finished the hub!
