Hi all attempting changing my front pads at weekend and done a bit of research and it seems they are like inverted nipples .....never want to come out so ive got my wd40 if thats any good which i doubt is it best to use a punch and a hammer or pull from the back of the pin with pincers not got a vice wise id of taken the caliper off and done it like that hopefully wont bend them
If you can get some plus gas that will be better and a good soak overnight.. hopefully will come.. If they dont move first few goes with punch leave bit longer with more plus gas and try pull from otherside if you can grip well as forcing may bend the pin (happend to mine) I have got diy pins now as I had to cut and drilled it out.. dont let that put you off though.. I just got impatiant night before a trackday and mine was a 2006 225 cup so a lot older..
Have you got a set of my pins to go on? Last set I changed I had ended up having to cut and drill to get them out
I must be lucky, i never had a problem with the pins on the r26 or 265, square head punch and lightly tapped out with a hammer
i used these the fit the ends of the pins perfectly http://www.screwfix.com/p/5-piece-nail-punch-set-1-16-to-3-16/14184
Fitted mine last weekend. For what should be a simple job it can take a long time. Had to cut and drill 3 of mine.
No dont think so and have seen the pins you make everyone raves about them previous owner might of done but i very much doubt it ill have a look at weekend mr pink and send you a message if i need some
Thanks guys done this today took me about 40 mins including jacking car up and putting axel stands under bought some plusgas and on way home went to screwfix and bought them punches 3 came straight out and other one took another spray of plusgas then it took a light hammer really crapping myself about doing it but my word so easy pins are solid not bent and look stainless steel look brand new and i havnt done pads since ive had it in 2.5 years
