Brake Fluid Question

  1. Was talking to the partners dad about her 200 needing new pads and fluid change, I said you'll have to change the fluid as it's recommended but sometimes he thinks he knows best and replied with no you don't it'll be fine.... Face palm

Am I right in thinking it'll need new fluid?

  2. oh yer....it comes as quite a shock to the ill informed as to the value of new fluid, IT MAKES A MASSIVE DIFFERENCE.....the older your current fluid, even after one year, the bigger the difference.

Its hydroscopic, as soon as its poured into reservoir it starts soaking up moisture, after some months its hydraulic value has changed and is less efficient than when completely dry. Hence why manufacturer supply two values Dry boiling point and Wet boiling point.

  3. For the cost involved, you may as well do the fluid.

  4. £10 one bottle of ATE super blue and your fine for every occasion, fast or slow!

  5. Thought as much, didn't realise it was that needed that much @bobsan

Another thing aswel when I mentioned mrpinks calliper pins should be bought, I got ' 'the look' asif to say no you don't need that.

  6. Only need the pins if your current ones are fooked or get bent/damaged when removed.

  7. Knowing Renault I'm sure they'll be fcuked

  8. they do make changing the pads a whole lot easier, i wouldn't be without em now.
