Hi, I did cadwell a few weeks back on my eagle F1's and they held up ok but suffered on longer sessions, ideally I will do another 2 track days this year and just would like to source some part worn track tyres that will last a few sessions, nothing down to the last mm. Looked at a few options R888 will be too much so looking at some federal rsr's, something that will be decent but does not have to be the best. Might just get some fronts and get a local garage to swap them onto my wheels before and after the track sessions a local place will do it for £10 for both, saves the cost of buying new wheels aswell. I may go down this route but trying not to spend a fortune.
New Nankang NS-2Rs are cheap enough to be considered - no real need to swap them wither - the 180s will work well on the road and might be cost effective there unless you do mega miles.
Running track tyres even at only a couple of mm if tread is no biggie so long as its dry, and if you get them cheap enough Also, I wouldn't recommend running proper track rubber up front and "normal" tyres on the rear. It'll upset the balance alot and you may find the rear overtaking the front under hard braking and cornering!
