  1. Just joined up and saying hello

Picked up a Ultra Red R26 F1 yesterday and still in the honeymoon period

Little background 40 Year old Male married with two kids.

No spring chicken any more but just couldn't bring myself to get a boring much needed family car after the recent sale of my clio 172 cup.

Hence the R26 F1 ticks all my boxes....just

The kids love it the wife will have to lump it....:tongueout:

anyway a quick intro and I'm sure I have plenty of dumb questions to ask but looks like I'm in good hands in here

  2. Welcome along Nick. Get some pics up.

  3. Thanks for the welcome.

I will get some good ones up at the weekend when I treat her to good soak

  4. Cool mate I'm also in notts, look out for a white R26.R

  5. Haha, I'm 45 , 2 kids wife hates my R, suits me down to the ground

  6. My wife likes ours, not the running costs versus the old car but she likes driving it.

  7. Cheers Steve, will do

  8. I was supposed to get a Honda Accord family bus (the 2.4 Type s though :tongueout:) but sod it the pipe and slippers can wait another 10 years!!

As soon as I clapped eyes on the R26 though I just had to have it. I drove a rent a race one at the ring 7 years ago and always said one day I will own one but at the time they were well out my price range and even the years that followed held there value very strongly.

Oh well 7 years later Better late than never

  9. I think in time she will come round to the fact that there's nothing wrong with a 3 door family car....

Running costs I will keep that quiet for now

Ive had mine a few years now and my two step sons love it. Trying to keep hold of it now my daughter has been born, as the baby seat just does not fit behind the Recaros very well at all.

Looks really tidy. Love them in red. As Ash says, ditch the Megane badge though.

  26. What part of notts are you in

  27. Cheers bud, I'm still a bit green with ownership (Still days) badge removal another item added to my todo list

Cheers Will, badge ditch noted as above

Currently I'm mainly concentrating on putting a few niggles right first as its always the same buying used privately.

Especialy those little things you never noticed :worried: when your heart rules your head and fall for the performance charms

Plus I even broke all my own years of experience and rules with me buying it too eager when it was pissing it down with rain and I just couldn't come back had to have it there and then...lol

Luckily that gamble paid off as the bodywork bar a couple of small areas im not happy with is as pictured fairly tidy.

    Long Eaton, Steve.

Which some might know it as a mixed up town bang in the middle of Notts and Derby. NG postcode, Notts phone area code but Derbyshire council.....lol

I work in Carlton though so frequently either drive through town or the long way round via junction 27 cross country if I leave on time.

  28. I'm right near sytners, 2 miles away, a guy who works for me lives in Carlton and I work in long eaton quite often

I bought mine in snow. By the time the test drive was over, the snow had cleared off the body work and I could inspect it.

  30. Small world eh?

I used to work near sytners many years ago.

I just wish those frigging tram works would blooming hurry up  Been at Carlton for the last 18 months and I bet sitting in heavy stop start traffic has cost me at least 40/50% extra in fuel costs in that time. As the crow flies 12 miles from my home to work which through town can take an hour and a half if every miss daisy is on the road  Might as well be working in sodding London :tongueout:

Hence sometimes going the long way round at almost 3 times the distance can be 45 mins quicker that's when the m1 is moving though

  31. Lol you've just jogged my memory I've not even checked that my heater blows hot yet!!!

  32. Maybe off topic lads but if you need your calipers refurbishing then there's a good place in Long Eaton that does them. I had mine down there last year for the work to be carried out!
