275 AD08R Tyre Pressure

  1. Hi all. I'm taking my car on track on Friday and was wondering what I should be aiming for in terms of tyre pressure on my Yokohamas. I've heard about 34psi hot is good but I don't know if that's relevant for the Megane.

  2. RenaultSport advise 26psi cold for track work on the R26

  3. For 235/40/18, you start from 27-28psi cold....

    Ignore cold pressures. Means nothing.

Id aim for around 34 hot in them on stock suspension, They need a bit more in them to keep the sidewall stiffer as well

  5. Agree with this. I found 36 Hot for AD08R’s was best - but I’m in Australia haha.

  6. I'll aim for 34 then. Does anybody know if the TPMS is particularly accurate or should I get my gauge out?

  7. I’d always use a gauge.

  8. Haha I mean technically the TPMS is a type of gauge, it just depends how accurate it is. It seems to match up relatively well with what the hand held one is saying, but I was just wondering if there is any reason why it won't work as well.

  9. Maybe test its accuracy against a gauge, then?

  10. Just buy a Motorsport Tyre gauge mate, like $120 bucks and accurate to 1 PSI.

The temp on the car is bar, so not that accurate to PSI changes.

Plus you can keep it forever.

  11. Thanks for the advice guys. On track tomorrow, and can't wait to see how it goes.

  12. Just remember your tyre pressures alter with heat, especially on track....which is by far the best reason to have an accurate tyre pressure gauge with you, to check which pressures work best. I also have a tyre pyrometer to measure heat across the tread of the tyre (good indicator of under/over inflation and/or alignment issues), but I’m OCD.
