Hi, Few pics of my '07 Megané F1 230 that I picked up earlier this year! Not my first Renault, I had a FF 172 about 5 years ago which looked after me well, and was a hoot to drive! I'm mainly a VW enthusiast, but even I recognise that the French have been making the most capable hot hatches for the last 2 decades! After selling my Mk2 Golf race car, I needed something that I could go on track with from time to time to cure the itch, so out the box, there wasn't really any other options than anything in the Renaultsport range! Car has 48k, full service history at Renault and the last couple at specialists garages, everything works as it should, really nice car, very capable in standard form, and nicely equipped for my needs! - It isn't driven daily as I have a work car, so purely for enjoyment! Couple of pics pictures for my phone with my other pride and joy: 1986 Scirocco complete with 'Built not bought' 1.8t Audi engine, which makes things a little bit more interesting! Out for for a quiet drive with a friend in is E39 M5.. Not a lot in it accelerating down slip roads etc! Very suprising! My Scirocco and Megané And again
MOT this weekend, which I need new tyres to pass, so I opted for the new Vredestien Ultrac Conti, to replace the Vredestien Ultrac Sessanta's which I was very impressed with. The sidewall on the Conti's is remarkably stiffer which bodes well for track use.. They were a bastard to fit due to this apparently too! First impressions are promising, very quiet compared to the Sessanta's.. And initial feeling is just as much grip. Will keep this updated I get more use out if them.. Ordered Goodrich braided hoses in black, to fit along with my Reyland 330mm discs and bells and Ferodo DS3000 pads which are being ordered next month... Gotta have decent brakes for track work!
Cheers mate, not too much with regards to upgrades. Want to keep it totally useable.. Just enough to use it on track reliably really.. Big brakes, Intercooler, exhaust, panel filter and probably some high end dampers later down the line: AST's or KW's... And regular maintenance and decent quality consumables! Few details here and there to make it my own!..
