Currently on the look out for a tidy 225/f1/r26 but they all seem to be from down south and not many in the north west. Looking to spend £3.000 - £6,000
Worth travelling for the right car though, surely? I got mine from Edinburgh - booked a night in cheap hotel. Compared to buying a shed of a car, the cost would be nothing really.
I'm in no rush what so ever. Just thought if anyone is thinking of selling car in near future then it would be an opportunity for me to get my foot in the door before it goes straight away. I would travel but working most days I don't have the luxury of being able to stay over nights etc.
you should get a decent non r26 for that money but I would think your going to have to look around and travel a bit unfortunately, they just arnt that common
I wouldn't pay less than 4-4.5 for ANY Rs Megane personally - unless you want something you have to spend money on
To get a worth while fsh r26 you are looking 7-8k any less that 6 and there's something they are hiding unless it's high mileage.
all the ones I'm seeing are high milers or sheds, I'm happy to be proves wrong though lol or maybe I'm expecting too much?
From time to time an absolute steal comes up and there is sensibly priced cars out there. But it's very rare it happens.
I suppose it depends on what is classed as good condition to the person buying it. I've seen 3.5k megs thwt some would class as good but is nowhere near my standard. When I got my trophy i looked at some of the lower end r26's and they were shit boxes.
I live in the North West but I had to go to Yorkshire on the train to get mine, which is a cracker. There a lot of cars that haven't been looked after, so going a bit further afield could be well worth it.
I am a couple of hours away but my 225 will be up for sale soon as I have a company car now and the wife won't let me keep it! Pm me if your interested.
I picked mine up last week, paid 6.5k for it. FRSH all belts done etc and only 39k on the clock. but did have to travel 150 miles each way for it! Just have the money waiting and go as soon as you can, took me 2 months of looking on every site I could think of at least 2-3 times a day. only in St. Helens if you want to come and have a look at one/ have a drive I had never even been in one let alone driven one when I was looking for mine, and like you said non around our area.
haha well, i bought mine a year ago for 8k its an f1 team, had 60k on clock, garage said it was perfect, after 2 months needed new brakes all round. new tyres new clutch and 2 new hub bearings, id sell u mine mate but im probs looking about 6.5... and its tuned by rs tuning so u probably dont want it haha
