2008 Megane R26 - Lux Pack

Discussion in 'Cars For Sale' started by EAndy, Jun 20, 2019.

  1. Sorry for the essay! Will update with better photos but just drafted the advert with as much detail as possible

2008 2.0l Renault Megane R26 Lux in Glacier White
    75k miles
2 months MOT (Will be MOT’d before unless buyer prefers not to have assessed by own local garage it will have no issues – the last advisory was 2nd June 2017 when it had play in the steering rack which was replaced)

Currently it’s running 280.8bhp / 308.9 torque (dyno’d at EFI), prior to the map it made 231.0bhp / 223 torque.

I have a HPI check that’s been done should you wish to inspect and view but of course I would welcome and advise you run your own as with any car purchase.

FSH last minor and major services listed below.
25th April 2019 (73942 miles)– Timing Belt (including tensioner & idler), Aux Drive Belt (including tensioner), Water pump & gasket, Crankshaft pulley bolt, Camshaft oil seal and fixing kit, transmission fluid, brake fluid, suspension top mounts, spark plugs, breather pipe, air con recharged, swivel hub replaced.
    24th August 2018 (70289 miles) – Oil & Fluid Service

The car is R26 spec so comes with LSD as standard and has the LUX pack so full leathers including armrest.

I am the 7th owner of the car so it’s averaged an owner roughly every 18 months.

    Generic Spec as follows:
    2008 first registered 31/03/2008
    75xxx miles
    6 speed Manual
    Glacier White
    CD Head unit
    Bluetooth compatibility
    Brembo Brakes
    Central Locking
    Ice Cold Air Conditioning
    Seat Airbags
    2 sets of key cards

The car obviously comes with all the standard equipment fully working such as Electric windows as well, power steering, Xenon headlights etc.

Interior is immaculate, I'd question if someone has ever sat in the back!

Since ownership I have had carried out a complete overhaul and receipts showing a £1,964.06 service for the up keeping of the car. I took it to Renault Specialist Diamond Motors and told them if anything is required then carry it out. Because of selecting issue in the gearbox I had this sent away for inspection in which 5th gear was changed, because of this it made sense to remove the engine at the same time so that a whole inspection could be carried out to make sure everything was in order.

I’ve probably forgotten more. Have a big folder of it's history.

Have vast number of spares from Carbotech XP8 pads (£222 unused), Renault Glacier White paint spray, spare set of discs, spare plugs, loads of original parts it’s a long list.

In the past 12 months alone on servicing and parts the car has receipts of over £3,250.00.

Cars are a huge interest and a major hobby for me, this car has been well looked after by myself and previous owners however I wouldn’t want to not be honest and there is a few ‘minor’ stone chips on the front which I believe you will find on any 75k+ mile car. If I had to be really critical I would suggest changing one of the rear exhaust mounts it’s something on my list to do as when cold the exhaust sometimes has a small vibration but when the pipe warms it goes because the hanger is perishing with age and the rubber means its sitting a little lower.

It has never been involved in an accident by the previous owners or myself, but obviously, I fully welcome and insist HPI checks are carried out by any potential owners alongside full inspection of the car.

I will also not hide away from the fact the car has been set up as a fast road / track car and I have therefore used it on track all be it not much as I wanted. It’s done a half day at Bedford and a full day at Snetterton back at the start of this year ‘before’ it had the big service and inspection. The car has been kept to the highest mechanical standard and as you can see I’ve spared no expense.

The car is running a safe and steady 280.8bhp / 308.9 ft-lb torque with rolling road reports to back this up.

Please don’t waste my time if you’re a tyre-kicker. If you have any questions or comments, please just ask I’ll endeavour to answer them as best and honestly as possible I wouldn’t wish to waste anyone’s time travelling to view.

Looking for £6,350 ovno if asking price is met, I will include a set of OEM R26 spare wheels there are Grey so if preference isn't the Red wheels you can fit the Grey ones.

I know it’s not the cheapest, but I know it’s completely mechanically sound and whoever buys it doesn’t have to worry about any servicing items, belts, or other bits for a long time. I know it's very unlikely I'll find a buyer at this price but as said happy to keep it otherwise I know it won't cost me a penny for the next 12 - 24 months bar an oil change.

I’m simple selling as it’s done literally next to no miles since February, I’m away for few months coming up and I’ve to many cars at present which any potentially buyer will see if they come to view. At same time these are becoming more and more rare and I believe will lift in value like the Renault 5’s over time due to how raw they are so equally I’m happy store it if needed but would much prefer someone else gets enjoyment from it.

  2. Can't seem to edit the above but obviously it was supposed to read as R26.R Spoiler

It also has R26.R clutch and flywheel fitted late last year with minimal miles. I'm certain there is bits I'm going to have forgotten then remembered later on.

  3. Whereabouts are you based?

  4. Cambridgeshire, PE28 3EN is my office postcode which is 3 miles from my house as a idea of location.

  5. Added engine bay and interior photos. I realise an error on my advert as well about front strut brace, I meant to write rear originally but forgot to delete out the 'front' so I apologise for that.
