My 2007 R26 F1

  1. I have been hiding in the background for a month or so now and though it was about time I posted my little weekend toy.

I bought the car about a month ago locally to replace my DC5 and also to free up some money for other things.

I was really lucky to find a car locally with a lot of the mods I wanted to do already done so that saved me a lot of messing about and a lot of money.

Had some compomotive wheels already that I didn’t get round to fitting on my old Focus ST so planning to get them on, also plans for a lot more

  2. So like I said I have been hiding in the background for a month so I already have updates.

Trial fitted the wheels to see what tyre size I can get away with, also have some camber bolts to go on the front. Wheels are 9x18 Compomotive Mo’s ET50, as you can see they are a very tight fit but will hopefully work. If not i’ll sell them to Focus RS people for millions of pounds. They have been acid dipped and now at the painters.

Next up was the roll cage, after having a SW Motorsports cage in my old EP3 I decided I really needed another. With SW being pretty local to me I drove up after work to collect and fitted it that evening, also grabbed a rear brace to go with it. I had already removed the back seats and added a full length carpet.

Still going. Spotted a group buy on here that I just couldn’t resist, always wanted one of these...

What an absolute pain to fit, had to drop the centre section of the exhaust and even take the rear bumper off to give me some wiggle room. Eventually I got the thing in and it looks and feels epic. Just need to do some final adjustments and also cut the surround to fit.

That’s the lot for now, clubsports are on order and I already have the VBD frames here waiting. New head unit is here ready to go in and also a few other little bits like R26r fog blanks.

Nearly forgot, need to fit my steering wheel.

  4. They are Eibach ones, only cheap so i’m Going to give them a go see if they do the job. Planning coilovers in the long run tbh but need something for now. I have run camber bolts on a few cars and worked really well.

  5. Do the SW cages need chassis reinforcing plates welding in? If not do they bolt into somewhere strong enough to handle a roll? Been looking at one myself but they never replied to my email.

  6. If you message via Facebook or Insta they usually reply pretty quickly. If you go for the 1/2 cage they bolt to the seat mounts at the back but you have to drill the floor behind the seats. There are 4 bolts at the front each side with a plate on the under side so pretty solid. The brace also bolts to the top seat mounts so no drilling for that.

  7. Looks class where did you get the carpet from in the back?

  8. Little interior update.

Managed to get the steering wheel fitted and also got the gear surround trimmed to fit. Cruise buttons all working and shifter feeling absolutely awesome, love driving this thing. Pioneer SPH-DA130 also fitted, nice having DAB radio haha.

    Needs a clean now.

  9. So I removed all the gloss black bits and sent them to the body shop with the wheels, had everything done in the OEM grey that the wheels should be. Mirror covers, door handles, RS badges and wheels all now grey

The 9x18 Compomotives are now on the car along with some 235/40 Federal FSR’s but I feel I really need some coilovers for more lows ‍♂️

More pics to come when I get chance to take the car out and also when I get the mirror covers back
