Thanks for that update Framerateuk. So it looks like if the car was built/delivered after June 18, the fix will be already applied.
Apparently my Trophy will have made its way through manufacture and be on its way towards U.K. on 21st March.
I pick my trophy meg 4 on Wednesday, I can report back on MY OPINIONS in ride etc if anyone wants it! Lol. For comparison I’ve had clio 197, r26 meg and 265 cup chassis meg. I test drove the new trophy over my exact same route to work and back home on purpose and I felt the mk4 was a better ride quality, although the Alcantara bucket seats are ‘hard’!
Hi It’s black, manual, Visio pack, Bose pack, reverse camera, Alcantara pack. Picking up from County Durham, they said they only had it a week and had not been registered yet, that’s why I’m getting it straight away so I’ve managed to dodge the 4 month wait
Have any of you guys driven one before buying? If not I guess you just have to hope that you like it.
Renault aren't wasting any time launching hotter versions are they.... https://www.pistonheads.com/regulars/ph-french/renault-sport-megane-trophy-r-spied/39882 Took what, four years to get from 250 to Trophy-R? We'll have gone from 280 to Trophy-R in about a year with the MK4!
Oh dear...that's very interesting indeed. Been looking on and off at the Mk4 and so far its not totally convinced me. I'm looking to sell my current trophy very soon, but in no rush to replace it at the moment until something special takes my fancy.
Got mine today it’s brilliant, and as a surprise max Coates from clio cup series was sat in the car when I uncovered it with hospitality tickets for Croft
Haha, that's awesome mate Max is a top bloke, met him at an event he and his team were hosting last year.
Certainly looks like it goes about it’s business very competently indeed. Should have mine this time next week.
300 Trophy review (having had it all weekend and driven every type of road) For perspective, I drive a 265 cup pack Mégane and previously drove the 280 over a weekend. 300 is a different beast. Vs the 280, the car is just livelier and with the (much needed) exhaust for some more drama. The exhaust, in race mode, is brilliant. The cracks and bangs are borderline anti social, in a good way and in comfort, the flap shuts and the car relaxes down. The ride, like the 280, it’s nowhere near as hard as some reviews make out!! I honestly don’t get it. I say it’s extremely compliant and the damping is over and above my 265, as you’d expect. Traction, was amazing, but this was during a 20degree plus weekend so perfect tarmac! 4 wheel steer I found no issues, it just makes the car more direct. I didn’t find it took away from the driving experience at all. Recaros - are wider (not by much) than my 265 Recaros but actually, I think, more comfortable but gave the same support in the bends. Suited me perfect. Led lights - are decent enough, my dipped beam xenons are better but full beam on the 300 is fantastic What isn’t great - sat nav worked well, when destination set, but getting there is a pain Infotainment generally isn’t user friendly but again, when working, works well RS monitor - inside a menu of a menu Gearbox - I think I read it’s the 265 box with a shorter throw, which is correct, but sometimes it wasn’t slick and a bit notchy - not a deal breaker however but my 265 box is nicer. For those buying and considering the other options: BOSE - brilliant, super loud no distortion Rear camera - really impressed with the lighting in poor light (going dark) looks like daylight Alcantara wheel - nice touch This is all my personal view of course! Think that’s it in a nutshell...Any questions happy to try and help ...anyone got 30k spare?
The 265 has 18’s and PS4 tyres The trophy had the standard potenza’s which were fine but the thought of putting some PS4S on, will make it an even better drive I think!
Spotted my first Mk4 in the wild today (coming off the A4/A404 roundabout into Maidenhead). Volcanic Orange: great colour! Looked very nice from the rear/side. Need to see the front as it's the headlights and especially 'RS logo' DRLs that I've not been sure about. I'm really coming round to the car now. Sent from my ONEPLUS A5010 using Tapatalk
Poor iPhone pic through a rain soaked window, but it’s the only one Ive got. Cup-S goes next week. Initial thoughts, having covered a few dozen miles ferrying my daughter around. Love the way it looks, bulges in all the right places. Not even being a five door detracts, Renault have got the looks spot on - even better in the flesh. Exhaust sounds good, even before putting it into sport / race. Seats are far more useable than the Recaro’s in my Cup-S, seating position possible a touch too low when down as far as it can go, but will work on my favoured seating position. Interior might not be anywhere close to VAG, but compared to the mk3 it’s light years ahead. I like a few things (lights, displays, general cabin feel), but the infotainment is somewhat cumbersome to navigate. Gearchange is notchy as per the reviews, but is nice and short and doesn’t cause any issues. Steering feels good, as does the wheel. Wet up here today, wheels spin relatively easily, if you don’t feather it. The practicality of the 5 door with a five year old is a big thumbs up. That’s it for now, need to get it detailed and get some driving time without my daughter....... It generally feels like it has grown up a touch, but has the potential to be a great drivers car despite that, but I’ll reserve judgement until I’ve properly driven it.
Last photo of my Cup-S, been a great car, but think the new one will stand up pretty well in comparison.
