Had this 350Z with me for some attention the past week. Owner has wanted it detailed for some time as the previous owner wasn't too fussed on bodywork. Now the car has had some bodywork which had been done badly, the texture and finish was awful almost dark grey in appearance with plenty of da sanding marks to help. So these points had alot of paint but had to be made flat to keep in with the look of the rest of the car but the original panels had barely any clear on to work with so was a tricky job. On arrival: Citrus pre wash applied: Rinsed off: Car was then washed and into the garage: Could already see how dull the bonnet was looking: Clay bar worked it's magic: Then onto the paint depth gauge:
Then quick inspection of what needed to be tackled (apologies for the focus on some of these): So onto a test spot, these are abit rough round the edges as these were done to give the owner an idea of what could be done: Texture:
After: Before: After: Then onto the rest of the correction, this stage was the first of multiple polishing steps:
Before on the roof: This was terrible but real big improvements were made: Little 50/50: Before: During: After: Roof saw a big improvement:
So the car was then repolished again to remove any marks from the first stage and wiped down to remove any oils and checked with a light: Onto the opti coat: Then wheels and calipers: Exhausts: Noticed a brake light out when reversing in so this was sorted: Engine given a quick tickle: Interior hoovered, wiped over and leather cleaned: Loads of other bits were then cleaned and protected but as the weather looked ok I decided to get the car out for some shots:
Local hand car washes worked their magic on that. Paint looks f**kin shite. Was the roof done in Smoothrite?
I honestly can't believe you good you got that looking liquidf1, unreal transformation. The Black r26.r detail still my fave though
IMO an absolutely tosh looking car, but no denying what an unbelievable job you've done on it. Amazing work.. I shall visit at some point!
It's unreal what a state cars get in, when I pass a 'hand car wash' and the sun is shining you can see how horrendous the swirls and scratches are on black cars. Amazing job again there Ed.
As always ed perfect, looks like it has a new lease of life now, I absolutely love looking at your threads so much attention to detail its unreal, and with this one top marks mate it looks beautiful once again, well done
Black cars always have an amazing transformation but that is quality, bet the owner loved you when he picked it up!
lovely work Ed, that looked beyond help at the start, be the customer was well pleased with the result
+1. I managed to pull one's pants down in my Ibiza Bocanegra. 370Z would have to be the one to go for if my life depended on it. Luckily it doesn't..
