Spent today giving my brothers ST a good clean and got some protection down on it. Was hoping my Fusso99 would of turned up today as it will be the perfect car to test durability on but hey ho, Will just have to wait til i get back from work in 4 weeks LOL! Whipped all 4 wheels off to give them a deep clean, I don't think the fronts have every been cleaned properly. Couple hits with Smartwheels in various dilutions cleaned them up nicely though followed by some Korrosol and Tardis to remove the few tar spots. Arches were also cleaned up using VP Citrus pro and callipers with smart wheels again. Didn't get them sealed this time as i don't have anything that is suitable at the moment. While the wheels were off the car was hit with some VP citrus as a prewash to loosen the worst of the crap off, This actually cleaned the car up to about 95% clean, Well impressed and if i wasn't going to lay down any protection i would of probably left it like that. 2BM using maxi suds and various brushes for all the grills, That front honeycomb one is a proper PITA as is the rear above the splitter. Car was dried then Decon'd with Korrosol and Tardis. Fallout wasn't too bad but the whole car reacted. Rear was coated in tar spots as where the front wings. After i had wiped down the tardis it was then snow foamed using Carchem foam to get rid of any traces of tardis etc, Dried off again. Overall the paint isn't that bad on it, light swirls as to be expected and a few stone chips but no major blemishes or marks, Certainly nothing that won't come out with a light cut. As the weather wasn't looking to stay dry i didn't manage to get round the whole car with the DA but i managed to use some Prima Amigo on a finishing pad to add a bit more gloss to the rear bumper and door shuts where the worst looking marks were. BSD was used at the end to give it enough protection hopefully to do it when i get back in 4 weeks time. Sorry to say but i didn't get any before or durings, was trying to get it done before the heavens opened,Which they did briefly after it was done so managed to see how BSD beads and sheets water. Impressive for what is essentially a QD imo. Some afters. On a related note, My brother picked this up on Wednesday, His first car with a decent power/handling but i have put more miles on it than he has this week LOL! Dropped him at work this morning then took it a 2 hour hoon on various A and B Roads up here. Superb little thing. Engine feels N/A and it just goes from any revs and gear. Cruises along at good pace with no issues. Well done Ford. Its due to get some breathing mods and a map in a couple months. Should liven it up even more. I thoroughly recommend anyone to go and drive one, Nice being able to drive a car near its limits on the road without the fear of doing proper silly speeds like my Megane does. Its just good honest fun on the roads. Excellent.
Great work Jamie, looking good, nice bit of beading there  My Mrs has got a new 1.2 Fiesta, lovely little car, it's a bit slow but is pretty nimble and handles quite nicely for a shopping car, I'd imagine the ST is a corker.
Amazing aren't they Jamie! I regard it as a better drivers / more fun than the megane! Wait till he's mapped it! My brothers mountune stays with my standard megane no problem!
Cheers Andy, I was surprised at how glossy it looks for white. Between tidying the workshop and organising all my detailing stuff yesterday to doing this today I'm getting back into it now. Ive always said that the Mk7 Fiesta's chassis was brilliant. I used to own a MK7 ZS and actually bought one over a Twingo 133 as i preferred the looks and it was cheaper. DSC_3943 by Jamie_Atkinson, on Flickr My brother actually came from a MK7 to this as well, Albeit just a 1.4. Certainly quicker than his old one with over twice the power LOL!
Can of worms opened there mate LOL! I wouldn't say its a better drivers car IMO. It is certainly more fun on the road than my Megane anyway, I genuinely can't remember the last time i laughed so much driving a car. Lower speeds and less grip made it far more enjoyable without having to worry about instaban if the Police were hiding round a corner, or in a bush.
HaHa don't worry mate I posted in the last thread too!!! For me personally I would rather drive that on a B road than the megane. On track certainly the megane.
Good write up Jamie and the finish looks great. Trouble with me is, no matter how good they are as a hot hatch, they look dreadful Squeezed in like plasticine, so it goes high and long. To be fair and add some context, the Clio 200 is the same, and the wife has one of those (not RS though) Your comments on it being more fun I do have empathy with as I feel the same WTR my old 172 to the new Trophy. The new car would leave the 2001 version wanting in any kind of test you could imagine, but in terms of fun - a different matter.
