Best white light bulbs to fit

  1. Hi guys

Collect my 250 megane on Friday which I'm absolutely stoked about.

Sadly it doesn't have the visibility option so no xenons :-(

I'd planned to upgrade the main beam, dip and sidelight bulbs, could anyone advise me of which bulbs I'd require that would give a better bright white light that would improve visibility somewhat?

With not having received the car yet I don't know the codes or the best brand to go for.

    Many thanks in advance.

  2. Phillips blue vision or extreme vision get my vote. And some 501 SMD for the sidelights.

  3. Thanks for that mate. Want to get them bought ready for fitting when I get the beast, they easy enough to access?

Also, I know it's the wrong section but with 19 inch steevs what's the correct tyre pressure front and rear?

  4. Theres a sticker inside of the drivers door thats gives you all the tyre pressures.

  5. Headlights just slide out, so bulb changing is really easy
bet the wait is killing you

  6. Alright alright, don't rub it in on us Megane II owners hahaha.

I've bought Ring Xenon Ultima bulbs for various cars, they claim to be 120% brighter than normal bulbs and I can't argue that claim. Very white and definitely a lot brighter/sharper than normal bulbs.

  7. as said, Philips Diamond or Extreme and also Ring. Typically anything north £20 gets you into the 5000k bracket, H7 fitting for 250/265 mota. Two bolts and pull the long retaining stake.

  8. Thanks guys.

Yeah it's starting to do my nut in now, feeling a bit impatient, thing is I'm a bit ocd probably like most of you and I don't really want them touching the car now ha, there will be some grease monkey wiping his oily rag over the body work as we speak :-(

Nah I'm sure it'll be fine, I pointed out about the brakes being tired and they're replacing with oem pads and discs, they better be slotted or I'll freak out. Only two more days to go, strange how my clio feels better/sharper and more fun now than it ever has though

  9. You got the best colour:smile:

  10. Definitely have to agree with you there mate

  11. Right, before I go ordering, found Philips extreme vision h7 bulbs but do I need two sets? One for main and one for dip? The headlights from what I can see have main, dip and side light all in separate fittings? Might be wrong

Three different bulb placements, confused now lol obviously I'm not including the indicators

  13. That looks superb

  14. Thanks mate, chuffed to bits but I'm getting sick of waiting to collect it, one more day.....boooya!!!!

  15. I use Osram Night Breakers which I am pretty happy with and they are a bit cheaper which helps because high performance Halogen bulbs don't tend to have the greatest longevity.

  16. not going to be cheap, 6 bulbs you'll need, 2 dip 2 main 2 side (Philips or similar for white look) and possibly 2 indicator silver type if want to loose the horrid yellow look, that lots gonna set you back over £100 if you buy quality. Like most things, buy cheap buy twice.

  17. I fitted the Philips white vision bulbs to mine, before winter, and found that they were perfect for the 'white light' look.

The left headlight is the Philips, right headlight is standard halogen.

However I found that they didn't produce a strong enough light output onto the road for me, so have since fitted osram night breaker unlimited. These produce much more light on the road, and look fairly 'white' for my liking!

  18. I thought that but wasn't sure if the dip were h7 as well, I'd rather pay for quality bulbs first time round, yellow looking lights look tacky on a modern motor I reckon

  19. That's the look in searching for mate, looks great but we're they Philips extreme vision? I see they sell several options

  20. Sorry, just noticed they're white vision, my bad
