  1. Anyone off here going?

I'd love to but have no idea of the costs involved?

Nope, sessioned days are utter balls. OPL days are much better.

  3. Totally agree. Hate being told when I have to go out and come in.

Have a look on their website?

FWIW i was 50odd for my Ferry return to Dunkirk last time, Hotel was 200 quid each for the 3 nights we stayed, Rad Blu Palace in Spa but that with two of us in a room.

Fuel was a lot, Food was cheap enough as was beer.

Fuel is the main cost, I used over 4 tanks at Spa alone, But that was a proper trackday not this sessioned pish.

  5. After doing the OPL days at Spa, i wouldn't want to go to a session one again, it looks like Renault have shortened the sessions down to 15 minutes as well. As Jamie says food and beer is reasonable (depends how much you get through :rolleyes:smile: Fuel at the circuit isn't cheap, but i can't be arsed driving out during the day. I turn up with a full tank and use another full tank during the day. Brilliant track, can't wait to go back.

  6. I am going to Spa for the first time. (Living just an hour away, so almost home) Just want the experience driving the track. I've done a few trackdays but all of them were sessioned. Never experiencend an OPL.

  7. I went last year and I will be booking again this year but I didn't have a problem with the 20 minute sessions as I personally felt that was enough every hour.
For anyone thinking of going don't let this put you off as its a great day and renualt put on a good show I can't recommend it enough.

The RS days are what, £250 odd?

Thats more than i pay for a proper OPL day, I know where my money would go. More track time, Larger variation of stuff to chase and arguably a higher standard of driving.

Horses for courses i guess though. Some people may find their 15/20 minute session is enough for them. I wouldn't.

  9. Like sunnylunn I have done both Renault with sessions and opl, Jamie did mention that it is around the same price, opl just gives you more for your money, less crashes/stopped sessions and a much greater clientele with around a third of the cars. Steve organised a good deal this year and we are there again in April with goldtrack. You can book a garage as Spa has its own micro climate and each year (been 3 yrs) it always has rained, can't do this with Renault.

I really enjoyed the Renault days but the last one with Fastdave was not good as he got run off the road by the foreigners who seem to think they own the road. I think last year had even more spaces and getting 40 cars on circuit for 20 mins is a little crazy, I always ended going out in the black group just because there were only around 30 cars.

  10. Ive done the Renault 20 min. sessions, and the OPL,and I wouldn't want to go back to timed sessions. Last year at Spa, I started with a 2hour session,as it was pouring with rain, and there was very few cars on track. Wonderful!. Roll on Spa in April.

  11. Not waiting to April. Now got Cadwell in March.
