Been to a 40th last night my brother in laws uncle turned up, we've met before a few tears ago when I chased him in my RB 320 in his old 430, anyway this morning he threw me the keys to his new one and said I need you back in an hour, I'll never forget it.
It's the absolute best car I've ever driven, he's a massive Steve mc queen nut and owns quite a few of his items, 2 of Lewis Hamilton signed helmets , Donald Campbell helmet from the land speed record, so I'm going up to his mansion in a couple of weeks for a look round, this guy has lived the dream for sure
I am he's just text me and said pop up anytime , honest I'm still buzzing, mind you he bought it brand new fully specked was 250k
Awesome things aren't they Steve, it's the gearbox that impresses me. Im not one for having the roof down on a car but went with a friend to maranello to collect his new F12 earlier in the year and had the pleasure of driving the 458 spider back and the noise was reason enough never to put the roof up.
Must be perfect Ferrari weather as I saw two 458s around Wilmslow this evening. Hope you drove it faster than you do the R26R
Stunning cars, shame the 430/458 don't sound anywhere near as good as the 360/355/348. Not sure what they've changed over the years but the noise has suffered.
The crank is different in the 458, it's more like to 2 litre blocks stuck together now. It sounds crap imo because of it
The Speciale is something else I drove one fore supercardriver the other week, I nearly poo'd there and then. Not driven a standard 458 but I would love to track one.
He's a massive petrol head, he ownes 1 of Lewis Hamilton helmet, 2 of Schumachers the helmet Donald camball wore when he set the land speed record, he paid 168k for Steve mc queens racing suit he wore in a film , got a coffee table made from an F1 front wing among many other things

Have you heard the flat crank in person past 6k rpm?? Sounds crap? Spine chilling! They're not a muscle car type of sound but have a mechanical wine
Listen to a 355. Then a 458. Then you'll understand. Even a Gallardo/Huracan makes the 458 sound distinctly average.
I really want to drive one of these, I had one of those driving experiences at tockwith Testing centre near York on Saturday where I got a few laps in a 360 spider . Immense sound !
Spent the day at Spa on Monday. Superb trackday, several supercars out. Just confirmed that the, 458 sounds comparatively pants. The huracan, 991gt3, gallardo all sound far far better. The F50 is on a different planet to all of them!
