what's your favourite brake bedding procedure?

  1. Changed pads all round along with a fluid flush today . So what are your favourite methods for bedding in the new pads as well as possible? OEM all round.

I took a couple of pics so may put a guide together if I get a moment too

  2. Depends what pads I suppose doesn't it

If its just OEM pads i wouldn't worry too much about a specific way of bedding them in, I never bother with oem spec pads and just drive normally and have never had any poor performance or downsides.

Uprated Pads is a totally different matter though

  4. Ok so bedding in of redstuff?

  5. Take them out and buy a decent pad

  6. Agreed!

  7. Well seeing as the previous two comments are pretty much useless I'll add my opinion.

Regarding the EBC Redstuff I believe the instructions supplied specifically state no heavy or prolonged braking for a 300 mile period.

  8. /\ I haven't put them in yet! , but. @150 squid they're going in and they'd better be better than oem!

  9. May as we'll replace the brake fluid too
Recommendations? And how much does it take?

  10. could you not send them back and get the yellowstuff ?

standard pads in the 250 are ferodo ds performance compound .. and i would say the red stuff won't be as good

  11. I used an ate dot4 class 6 in mine -road only and I'll change pretty frequently. So far good pedal feel so I'm pretty happy with it. The front drivers side caliper was a little difficult so I used just over 1ltr. I didn't bleed the clutch through this time as I couldn't really see how to get to it without dismantling a fair few bits.

If anyone has any tips for getting to clutch bleed point , let's hear them ?

  12. Motul Rbf660 is my preferred fluid. Good value and very high performance.

  13. There we are then. New discs all round with EBC red stuff . It's transformed the braking tbh . There's the progressive feel to the pedal now much better stopping. The car has done 30,000 miles and the front pins were corroded and inside pistons jammed on fronts and one rear. No wonder the brakes felt only slightly better than my Morris minor! Passed mot in March with no trouble though.
Think I'll be getting some me pink pins though anyone have a contact addy?
